Pros: Helpful staff, walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. Cons: Noisy A.C., rooms slightly dated.
The Chelledun family needed two rooms at a reasonable price for a whirlwind weekend tour of San Francisco. The Omni San Francisco seemed to fit the bill, as the price was right and we'd previously had good experiences at Omnis in Indianapolis and ...
Pros: Exceptionally good staff, attractive rooms, good fitness room, Great staff! Cons: Dining might be a little boring here...we didn't bother
The Doc and I needed to find a good berth for our trip to San Francisco this past weekend. Being skeptical of the dangers of Priceline, I chose the safe route and booked through their vacation package department where you get to choose the hotel. ...
Pros: Location and service Cons: Cost not for the stingy
Smack dab across the street from the breathtaking 555 California Street skyscraper (with the Carnelian Room high atop it) sits the Omni San Francisco. I've always enjoyed the Omni chain as a great example of how a chain business hotel can remain anything ...
Probably the 2nd best hotel in San Francisco by dawnsdinos ,Sep 03 '06
Pros: Location, staff Cons: None
I loved the Omni. It has a fantastic location. It's near the bottom of California Street, before the hill really starts. It's close to many attractions and it's easy to get around from. As with any hotel in San Francisco the parking is tough, that is why whenever we stay in the city we take public transportation and The Omni is close to it all. You can take the Cable Car to Chinatown or Nob Hill, walk up one block to get a bus to North Beach or just walk there. It's close to the Muni and Bart stations which can get you just about anyplace you want to go. I personally found the staff to be very helpful, when we checked out we were on our way to UCSF Medical Center, my husband had to have tests run, instead of a cab they took us in an Omni car for about the same price, and also told us if we needed a ride back to the hotel to call. It was a great experience and I would definitely go back agian.
San Fran Omni, Difficult to improve on! by rwhannaway ,Nov 19 '05
Pros: Great location, wonderful staff and beautifully appointed rooms. The beds are amazingly comfortable. Cons: No pool.
This is a classic beautiful hotel with a wonderful location near the base of Nob Hill. Step out the timeless entry onto a cable car or take a walk in nearly any direction to find delicious restaurants. Less than a five minute walk to incredible dinning and shopping. The Hotel itself is fantastic with large luxurious rooms and truly impressive customer service. Each and every staff member down to the housekeepers was friendly, professional and fun. Within minutes we felt as though the Omni was our hotel and that we had stayed here many times (despite this being our first trip). Should anyone decide to take a trip to San Francisco and want a wonderful hotel to stay in, I give the Omni my highest recommendation possible!
Great 3-night stay that makes us longing to return. by wh2sjamwlep ,Jan 03 '06
Pros: Great location, everything is flat and walkable. Nice exercise facilities. Cons: $45/day valet parking not included in the daily rate . No pool or spa.
The Omni Hotel is ideally located for touring San Francisco. Unlike the hotels on Nob Hill where every direction is a very steep downhill walk, the Omni Hotel is walking distance (no hills) from Union Square shopping and dining, the Financial District, Chinatown, and the Ferry building. The California St. cable car goes right past the front door for more touring possibilities.
The staff is friendly and attentive to adults and children alike. They provided a bag full of activities for our children at check in, and milk and cookies with every turn down service. They never failed to greet us when we exited the elevator or returned to the lobby.
The Fitness center has plenty of machines and variety to suit most people's needs, there is no pool or spa but the hotel has an arrangement with the Bay Club across the street for a nominal fee.
We look forward to our next stay at the Omni Hotel. In the words of our 8 and 6 year olds "the Omni rocks!!"
