Pros: Sleek, compact design. Quality electronics. NICE SUB ! Upgradeable! Cons: , Satelites slightly
harsh when pushed.
I really like this little system, it has everything one
really "NEEDS" in a compact HTIB, (Home Theater In a Box).
The unit is super-sharp looking A/V Reciever, looks expensive
front panel, Of course
main attraction here is simplicity...
Pros: Receiver quality is Very Good. Speakers are well balanced. Cons: Not exactly Small. Thin speaker-wire will not bring out full potential.
Let's face it, HTIB's or "Home Theaters In a Box" are the ideal solution for most homes. They're tidy, able to fit in most places, and as for value, they won't leave moths is your already-strained wallet/purse. I've visited all the stores: Best Buy's,...
Pros: Best cost/benefit of any system under $2000. Cons: At this price, I can't muster any real criticism.
I have looked at a number of systems from Bose, Sony, Yamaha, and JBL, and this system easily delivers more for the money. I have been using the system for three months now, and I have no complaints. Some people have mentioned the "larger" size of ...
Pros: Outstanding Sound , Great Design , Awesome Price , Compact Style Cons: Non-Stylish reciever and speakers

No matter what system you ultimately buy, make sure you buy it from an AUTHORIZED dealer or your warranty might be worthless. And just because a merchant says they are authorized on their website does not automatically not...
Pros: Video & sound switching simultaneously, best sound, price, works great as full or partial upgrade Cons: Doesn't have component video, remote doesn't control CATV
This system sounds amazing!! Better than many others I have heard. I really like that this receiver will switch the sound and the image on the TV with the same button press, as opposed to have to change the sound on the receiver, and then the video...
Pros: Best bang for your buxs!!! Unbalivable price. Cons: None. They did it all right.
I picked this system out for my folks. However, I had the challange of finding a good system without costing alot of money. Till Onkyo made this little package, this task was impossible.
To compare with what I know: I have been a audio...
Pros: Full Bodied Sound, Package price. Cons: Large speakers, Lacks a DVD player.
After much research, I decided on the HTS 650 for it's value. At just under $500, this system can fill a fairly large room with full, rich sound. The satellites are rather large, and could pose a problem when trying to mount them in a discreet fashion....
Pros: Clear instructions to install and hookup
system Cons: Requires more detailed instructions for adjusting sub woofer
The system provided excellent value at a cost of $499.00 The overall system performance is above other brands I compared in this price range. The construction of the receiver is robust. The available features of the receiver allows for expansion in the...
Best Sound system for under $600 by natenatc ,Jun 25 '04
Pros: Excellent sound for price Cons: large speakers and no seperate crossover setting on the sub
Hands down this is the best sound system that you can buy commercially under $600 dollars and the actual price isnt even close to other systems in this range.
Great sound, easy set up and use.
Pros: Great Sound, Many imputs/outputs, easy to set up, eay to control Cons: Not a cheap system & speakerwire that it comes with cheap and must be replaced
I bought this home theatre system in late august 2002 and I have not been more happy with a purchase I have ever made. It is simple to set up and control, and sounds phenomenal. It gets a bit pricey because the optical & coaxial digital audio imputs. But this receiver can easily support (as it has for me) s-video and optical audio from both a DVD player and a PlayStation 2. It is simple to change between imputs and everything can be run through it. I even use it to add s-video imputs so I can also hook up my laptop to my television, in case I want to play something through my laptop.
This home theatre system is incredibly clear, easy to use and set up, and is excellent quality. I recommend purchasing new speaker wire, as the speaker wire that comes with it is very cheap. I also recommend purchasing a line conditioner, as home theatre systems are especially sensitve to fluctuations in power that are normal.
Pros: Crisp sound, heavy features, good quality, price Cons: None
I have set up and heard many low and high end systems working in audio video. Usually when you hear the term theater in a box that's a bad thing, but not here! You will not get a system that sounds or performs this good with the same amount of features that this one has for the price. You will have to purchase speaker mounts and stands separately which is no big deal(if you plan on mounting them). This system sounds like a 800 to 900 dollar system for 300 bucks. There is no question about it, if your on a budget and you want quality this ones for you.
