Pros: Many improvements, an entirely new campaign.
Cons: Bugs still pop up, it's still frustrating as heck.

Summary: This, I can say, is a game that really and truly surprised me. Having given its predeccesor a well-earned, but not ecstatic, 4 stars, I expected to give the expansion pack the same…with a bit less enthusiasm, perhaps. But no, Operation Flashpoint: ... read more

Pros: Prettier than the original. Amazing depth.
Cons: Still very cumbersome. No replay feature. Only one save per level?

Summary: I enjoyed the original OFP, but not as much as I should have. I was less familiar with strategy games and computers than I am now and OFP didn't have a very good tutorial. The manual isn't too helpful and even the FAQ you find online is lacking. ... read more

    Pros: Great everything, almost.
Cons: This game almost had it all, almost. Stupid glitches.

Pros: Huge enviroments, vehicles, weapons physics, and blowing stuff up at night.
Cons: Often lackluster graphics, frustrating enemies and missions, a few bugs, and some other minor issues.

Summary: While they are a relatively new genre, tactical shooters are also a rather popular genre. Rainbow Six, Rogue Spear, Swat 3…the list goes on and on. However, most of these games focus on stealth more than anything else. Operation Flashpoint ... read more

  • It's so realistic, it's boring!

Rated Show by the Epinions community
    Aug 3, 2005
Pros: Extremely realistic, highly detailed war simulation.
Cons: Too many mundane objectives, long stretches where your character is barely involved.

Summary: Yes, I understand Operation Flashpoint is not supposed to be a traditional FPS. It was designed to be as realistic as possible, and in many ways, it is. Unfortunately, this makes for a game that has way too many mundane objectives such as driving a truck
