Pros: Numbs the area almost immediately. Cons: Freezes your lips and tongue too.
I have had false teeth for 30+ years now. I get problems with them rubbing against the gums. Also I sometimes bite the inside of my mouth and that pain is something else.
Back in England I would use Bongela. It worked really good in numbing...
Pros: Quick Numbing Affect, Probably Better Suited For Minor Mouth Pain Cons: Bitter Taste, Difficult Application, Did Little To Relieve My Pain
My wisdom teeth and jaw have been causing me a great deal of pain in the past few months. Sometimes it is so severe that it keeps me up at night, or keeps me from functioning normally throughout my day. For several weeks I avoided going to the dentist. ...
Pros: This works for minor pain associated with sensitive teeth, some dental procedures. Cons: It won't take the place of pain medications, such as Tylenol, Advil, etc.
I have had the same dentist for over 25 years. We have a good patient/doctor relationship. And he pretty much knows my mouth better than I do.
Still . . . I know whenever I have work done that later I’m going to be in some discomfort....
Pros: Pleasant taste, quick acting Cons: pain relieving sometimes doesn't last
I have had real bad luck with dental work in the past. When I was younger I had several large metal filling put on my teeth, back in the early seventies there wasn't the same materials for filling teeth that dentists have to use now a days. These...
Pros: Fast relief. Relatively safe. Cons: Fast relief doesn't last very long. Tastes awful. Makes me gag.
Last year, I got two of my wisdom teeth plus another molar yanked. Needless to say, I was in excruciating pain for some time after the surgery. I couldn't take prescription analgesics because they make me rather loopy. Ibuprofen worked great, but I was...
Pros: Takes away the pain and irritation. Cons: Doesn't last too long. Pain is back in no time.
Doesn't matter what I do or how many times I brush my teeth, I end up with a bad tooth. It usually happens in the middle of the night or whenever I can't get a dentist on the phone! Grrr!
Pros: It does provide fast toothache relief. Cons: Relief doesn't last more than 20 minutes or so.
I recently received an unused tube of Orajel, Maximum Strength toothache pain medicine from a friend. I guess she had grown tired of hearing the complaints I had been making concerning an aching tooth. This is the first experience I have had...
Pros: fast relief Cons: Taste could be offensive to some
Several years ago I had the misfortune of losing a filling at a Chicago restaurant. Being away from home on a business trip I hated to go to a different dentist, so I went to a drug store and bought Orajel, which promised instant relief. True to it's...
Pros: works in minutes Cons: wears away after a few hours
In the past year I have been getting really bad toothaches. One day while I was at work it got so bad I could barely talk which wasn't good cause I was a cashier and you are expected to talk to the customers. Anyway on my break I found this product and...
Pros: works fast/ even works on ingrown toenails Cons: numbs everything but the tooth that hurts
I unfortunately had several cavities during my adolescence. My mother, queen of over-the-counter potions, once bought me some maximum strength Orajel to try and help with the pain while I waited for an opening at our dentist's office.
Pros: Relief faster than you could expect from a pill such as aspirin or tylenol Cons: Numbness that may develop on the cheek/lip or tongue area
I am new to pain - and found I have little tolerance for it - especially when it is smack in the middle of my most used body part - my mouth. The dentist decided she wanted to put fillings my most used molar on the right side of my mouth - worn down by ...
Pros: none Cons: waste of money, no relief for toothaches
I have had bad teeth since I was a kid. I am handicapped and have taken many, many medications thoughout my life which has affected my teeth. Fillings, caps, you name it, I had it. I have used Orajel in many forms. Even with MAXIMUM on the label, ...
Let me tell you, when you have a toothache don't reach for the Orajel. It doesn't work. I tried it this past week, on a major toothache, and the only thing it managed to do was make the pain worse. I was in more pain after using this product than I was...
Pros: works very quickly, and the effect lasts a good while Cons: When you first apply this, the pain increases for about a minute before numbness sets in
I have had trouble with tooth pain on more than one occaision and more than one tooth. I found that it was a good idea to keep a tube of this medical miracle in my purse. I would apply this gel at the first sign of aching and usually stop the real pain...
Pros: Very fast and simple Cons: They call this a LOCAL anesthetic?
They're not kidding when they say MAXIMUM STRENGTH. This stuff comes is a very small plastic tube, and smells very strong of mint. I have an impacted wisdom tooth and the swollen gums to boot, so I went directly to the strongest stuff in the...
As my wisdom teeth came in I was in pain! So I bought a couple of things to try, and this one is the one that worked. I Loved it. My mouth felt so much better with in seconds of putting the product on my teeth. The only thing that I did not like about...
Pros: it WILL make you fell better temporarily, cheap, over the counter cure Cons: not a permanent solution, numbness may feel strange
Orajel is excellent for quick relief of minor tooth pain. It is definitely not a permanent solution. Unlike taking pain killers for tooth pain, this product is more focused, diret and effective. Tylenol, Aleve won't work as well to help your tooth feel...
Pros: instant effect Cons: tastes bad, doesn't last long
Orajel is great for about 10-20 mins. If I have a toothache I will take some ibuprophen then use the orajel to try to get through until the ibuprophen takes effect. sometimes nothing will relieve a toothache (it could be infected and need an antibiotic and maybe a prescription for pain). Orajel works real well on canker sores so that you can eat. This product does taste horrible however.
Pros: Fast acting, Long Lasting, No nasty taste Cons: Mouth was very numb.
I had an impacted wisdom tooth coming in and my gums were all swollen. Orajel helped more than liquid lidocaine. Iwas amazed at the relief I obtained from the orajel. I didn't have a really horrible taste and it helped the pain better than anything I tried.
Pros: I think Orajel might be suitable for mouth ulcer. Cons: Orajel can make a part of your face feels like it's paralized.
I bought Orajel on the recommendation of a pharmacist. Since I don't have a prescription for antibiotics for my toothache, and am having such great pain, I decided to give it a try till I get to see my dentist.
After applying the gel on my aching tooth and gum, I felt a slight numbness on that area. But what really surprised me was that the following morning, and on to the next day, my chin was almost entirely numb. What makes it worst was that my tooth still ache, and I have the added problem of this numbed chin.
