Pros: Shows a more experimental side of the band, and early versions of a few tracks. Cons: Production is flawed here and there, fewer all-out rocking songs.
Oh, how the mighty have Fallen.
It's amazing how we Christians can put certain artists on a pedestal, and then turn on them so quickly when they disappoint us. Take the Goth-inflected, female-led rock band ...
Pros: Please, don't even ask. It's all great. Cons: Golden nuggets that weren't released on Fallen. For shame....
And the obsession continues... Many months ago, when Fallen
was first released, my good buddy, divad2
3
emailed me links to where I could download some of their earlier songs. ...
Pros: The metal infused "Lies"; "Field Of Innocence"; Origin has such an airy, innocent vibe. Cons: Some lyrically and musically weak moments, but they're few and, honestly, forgivable.
Evanescence. By now, the universe seems to be all too familiar with nearly every detail of the band: There are millions of people who could recite an autobiography of the band, whether they want to or not. Why's that? To make a long story (or is it ...
Pros: Tantalizing vocals, crunchy guitars, tear-jerking piano, rattling drums and like everything... Cons: Rarity...
After reading divad23's review of this album, I was absolutely bent on getting this album. I would get it even if it meant I had to pay $150 on ebay for this album. I had absolutely fallen in love with their later released album,
Pros: Awesome sounds - diversity in a single CD. Cons: I got nothin'
The Evanescence CD you never heard. Ok, well perhaps some have heard it, but the majority of people I know have not. Before Evanescence got all their glory via the 2003 Daredevil Soundtrack, and thus putting out a new CD, Fallen, there was a li ...
Pros: Intense vocals, tear-jerking ballads, innovative and life-altering lyrics Cons: The rarity the album has been subjected to
"I want to go back to believing in everything, and knowing nothing at all..." -Field Of Innocence Even as I type these words into this text box, I am mesmorized by the ingenius sounds of this album, as I pause to really appreciate the mid-song ...
Pros: "Lies," Amy Lee's voice, most of the disc. Cons: A lame song or two.
Many of us have watched Evanescences odd switch from Christian band to uh not-so-Christian band. (I wont get into that. Its a dead horse.) Many of us also enjoyed Fallen, their 2003 release on Wind-Up Records. And now, ...
Pros: Focuses on REAL issues that we can relate to - not the repetitive love stuff. Cons: Even In Death and Eternal could have been better thought out in terms of instrumentation.
The Evanescence EP that came before Origin was short but sweet, and perhaps Evanescence's most memorable song, Imaginary, has been on all 3 of their proper albums. The Origin version of Imaginary is the best though. I like this album... I don't speak Engl ...
Pros: Most of the songs are excellent. Cons: My Immortal is too damn outdated.
Me, like most everyone else, was first subject to the music of Evanescence via the movie Daredevil, a less-than-stellar superhero movie staring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner. Too bad, because I had missed a lot. ...
Pros: "Lies," oh my lord I love that song. Cons: "Away from Me," some of the unusual sounds.
Origin served as sort of a sample record for the childhood duo-turned-band known as Evanescence. Though this is their first record, to me, it sounds very professional. Ben Moody and Amy Lee both wrote the lyrics and music of the entire album and released ...
Pros: Excellent experimental album, all around awe-inspiring
Cons: There's not much to complain about. This is just a great "debut".
This, like I said, is my favorite album ever. Pristine completely in every way, shape, and form, the songs on this album are completely original, rare works of art. From the sweeping Whisper and Eternal, to the slow soft ballads Field of Innocence and ...
The Real First Evenescence album by ghaleon0075 ,Feb 11 '04
Pros: Good sound, good tracks, good voice Cons: some bad quality
This is actually the first CD of theirs, not Fallen.
There are many really good tracks on this, such as Lies and Away From Me. This Album has a more unique sound than Fallen, whitch is good for most of the songs, but not all. It works amazingly for songs like Imaginary, giving it a creepy but cool sound.
This a good CD containing many tracks that should have been on Fallen. But this a rare CD, only to be found on sites like eBay, and even there it is pretty expencive. However, if you have the cash and want a great CD, you should give it a try. Otherwise you can try to find 'other ways' of getting it.
Pros: A great album to add to the evanescence collection Cons: hard to find in the US.
This album was given to me by a friend. I was very excited because i loved fallen. The 1st time i listened to origin i was bored with album. To me origin seemed less rock and kind of more christiany pop. I gave the album another shot, so i listened again, and then again and again well you get the picture. The more i listen to the album the more i really enjoy it.
Origin is a beautiful album filled with a mixture of sorrowful and uplifting lyrics. Each song paints a world built around the imagination and voice of Amy Lee. I highly recommend this album. If you are a true Evanescence fan than you will appreciate this lyrical work of art.
