~~ORIGINS LIQUID CLAY~~EWW! WHAT IS THAT AWFUL SMELL?

by melissasrn melissasrn is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Wellness & Beauty, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, May 03 '02
Pros: Refreshingly cleans pores of excess oil and dirt with clay ingredients.
Cons: Offensive scent; runny "string like" consistency; unattractive green color.
The inevitable has finally happened! After being introduced to the Origins line of fine, high quality skin care products a few months ago, I have found one particular cleanser designed for oily skin that I just do not care for at all. Since I...

Cleans, Tightens and Stinks To High Heaven--Origins Liquid Clay!

by erinrounds Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Jun 06 '03
Pros: Works nicely as a cleanser, Doesn't take much to work.
Cons: The smell, the smell, the smell, and the price isn't great either.
I haven't met an Origins product yet I don't like and thanks to melissasrn and Shantel575 I've "met" quite a few of them. With that said, the Origins Liquid Clay experience does leave something to be desired and I'm...

Origins Liquid Clay - Stinky and slimy, but my hey! My skin is soft!

by denasalazar Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jan 15 '04
Pros: Refreshing, rinses clean easily, unclogs pores, skin feels smoother
Cons: Horrible scent, thick and slimy, lather not as luxurious as one would expect
“Swirl over skin, pores say ahh to refreshing Australian Eucalyptus. Add water and this aroma-rich cream turns to a foamy lather. While skin basks in bubbles, absorbent French Green Clay lures out deep-dwelling grime and oils.” - taken from ...

Origins Liquid Clay Foaming Cleanser: The Green That Really Cleans!

by MADYL Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Oct 28 '01
Pros: Unclogs pores, removes pollutants, excess oils and exfoliates.
Cons: Green color takes getting used too
I am a product freak, especially when it comes to skin care. I am always trying out new skin care products in search of the perfect fit for my oily/combination skin. Out of any scrub I have tried, my absolute favorite is Origins Swept Clean....

It stinks...but I LOVE it!

by csmith75 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jan 04 '03
Pros: Gets rid of dirt effectively, helps control oil.
Cons: It stinks.
I am always on the lookout for products that will help me control my excessively oily skin. I was using Origins Mint Wash until winter came and my skin became immune to it. Great! So I went to Origins to look for another cure and found Liquid...

Clay=Mud=Bovine...nope, just can't get past THAT

by UNovelGirl , Oct 05 '00
Pros: I learned a lesson. A good one.
Cons: Waste of money. It didn't work. It smelled.
Okay, okay -- so my title probably gave away the fact that this is NOT one of my favorite beauty products.

First of all, to me, CLAY is equal to MUD. And MUD is not a word I find appealing where my beauty and skin-care routine is concerned....

Wakes me up!

by 4rhodes Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Oct 19 '00
Pros: smell, cleaning power
Cons: color
As a child, I used mud for many different purposes, mainly medicinal. I put mud packs on my bee stings and mosquito bites. I was told the mud pulled the impurity and toxins from the insect bites out of my skin. Naturally, I gravitated to the different...

Gossamer Beads o' Mud

by Liffey , Oct 12 '00
Pros: scent, unique texture, sproinky after-effects
Cons: possibly overpowering for eucalyptus haters, a touch overpriced
Soft, squishy, mooshy clay, slushed between my toes all day, clumping on my elbows hey, wiggling, giggling, froth-licking clay!

I was so disappointed that it wasn't red. So most mud masks (oh pardon, I surely meant...

Excellent Marketing, But Still Won't Work

by chilantro , Jun 27 '01
Pros: Feels tingly. Feels like its cleaning.
Cons: Still mostly faddish and gimmicky.
Wouldn't it be nice if the use of "natural" ingredients such as mud really cleaned deep into your pores and dug out all the dirt, oil, and "toxins?" As much as I wish it were the case, unfortunately, it's just not true.

This Origins facial...

Smells SOOoo Great

by Sara350 , Nov 16 '00
Pros: Wonderful Smell Quality
Cons: I wish they would give you more product for the money.
Groggily you walk to the bathroom, start the water running, and wipe the sleep from your eyes. Opening the tube of Liquid Clay, your senses begin to come back to life by the fresh scent of eucalyptus. Smoothing the creamy substance over your face, you...

Apparently great for oily skin, but not for me...

by moodle , Oct 10 '01
Pros: smells fresh
Cons: clogged my pores, not for dry skin
I tried this product because I used to love the MUDD masks when I was younger, they always made my skin feel so fresh and clean, so when I was looking for a cleanser I saw this and thought, wow! I asked the girl if it was okay for combination skin to use...

Don't Buy A Clay Product if You Don't Like Brown!

by helens , Apr 23 '01
Pros: Deep-cleansing, skin feels fresh after use
Cons: Not really an appealing colour!
Liquid Clay is a lovely product! It doesn't look beautiful, but then, given its content, would you expect it to? For me, who can't be bothered with mud masks and the like, this is a great in-between product - the deep-cleansing clay effect, but with the...

Drying

by pamzmm , Oct 01 '00
Pros: None
Cons: Product
Origins Liquid Clay is just that. It smelled just wonderful and at first I thought I was really going to like this product. The first day: I tried it was at night. The second day: My skin felt so uncomfortably tight. The third day: I had tiny lines...

I use this everyday!

by cover2 , Nov 21 '00
Pros: Very light
Cons: Doesn't get all of the dirt off
When I first bought this product I was confused by its name. I thought it was clay like, sort of like a mask. I was very surprised when I opened the bottle and it was not at all clay like. I gave it a try anyway and I have been happy ever since. I use it...

Great in the summer!!

by tiff7499 , Nov 15 '00
Pros: Strong scent. Foamy lather.
Cons: A little pricey.
I keep this in my shower for those "eeyore" kind of days. It's a real pick me up. It has a great eucalyptus scent that fills the shower. You really need to use this with a loofa or spongey bath thing. That makes it really suds up. I...
