Vermont in a Glass

by Bruguru Bruguru is a Lead on Epinions in Restaurants & Gourmet, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Apr 16 '01
Pros: Rich, roasty, caramelly porter.
Cons: None come to mind
I’ve said it before. A wise man once said, wherever you go, there you are. I might add to that that wherever you are when you go there, why not stop and smell the roses? The local roses, of course. Whenever I travel, I love to take in all the unique...

Otter Creek Stovepipe Porter: Roasted Smokey Goodness

by roymeo , Aug 18 '01
Pros: Dark smokey, roasted porter.
Cons: Maybe a little on the weaker side for pure porter performance.
Slap galoshes on my feet and call me a duck, but I just prefer porters to stouts.

by mmcphee Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Mar 03 '07
Pros: A nice drinkable beer with a delicious smoky finish
Cons: Twist off caps really irritate me
I am discovering there is more to my beer life than those flavored with fruit. Most recently I have been enjoying Otter Creek Stovepipe Porter. My Bottle, My Bottle, You Have Not Forsaken ME My 6-pack of bottles from this Middlebury, ...

A Dark Taste of New England

by fuche_bu Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Nov 12 '01
Pros: A hearty, robust porter that sings New England.
Cons: limited availability.
I have raved over the beers of Otter Creek Brewing Company in the past. This small little microbrewer from Middlebury, VT proves that bigger is not necessarily better. They have consistently managed to crank out some mighty fine brews.

BeerBaron Picks! (#4) Beers you haven't tried but should

by TheBeerBaron , Jan 25 '00
Pros: Velvety smooth, powerful roasted Porter flavor
Cons: I bit too heavy, I like Porters to be dark but light and quick
Fourth in my list of beers you should try and track down is this wonderful Porter from Otter Creek Brewery in Middleburry, Vermont. The Green Mountian State is a hidden gem of microbrew activity. Anyone tired of the big commercial skiing experience in...

Best Porter

by ndubrey , Jan 23 '00
Pros: Perfect taste
Cons: hard to find
This is a great porter that I highly recommend. Unfortunately it isn't easy to find. It is a great beer that goes well with a hearty meal of meat and potatoes. If you want a watered down beer like Budweiser don't even bother trying this. Only someone...

What a Dank Brew!

by idrinkbeer , Nov 25 '01
Pros: I like this beer better than Sammy Smiths Porter, and that says a lot.
Cons: I have to shop in fancy wine stores to find it.
This porter deserves some recognition. It's a little more chocolatey than most porters, but that doesn't take away from the beery goodness. Buy this beer to impress the boss or to reward yourself for a job well done. Best in the fall, this beer...
