Pros: Nice train-sounding whistle. Cons: A little dribbling.
"Drink tea."
An ex-smoker friend swears that tea was her savior while she was quitting. So, I bought tins and boxes of tea - chamomile, breakfast, mint, lemon, green, orange pekoe... and as a coffee drinker, I accessorized by purchasing a...
Pros: Easy to pour; cool whistle Cons: Easy to break; tough to clean; needs to be emptied right away; hot handle
I keep buying Oxo products. Sometimes I'm not entirely sure why - I've had a lot of bad experiences with them. It seems like so many of them break in one way or another after not so much use. But the concepts are just so darn handy,...
Pros: Easy-pouring, with no burns. Cons: Lid is difficult to operate at first, but spout is wide enough to fill with.
Remember when you first bought that new (or new-to-you) car, and it was all you could do to stop giddily staring at it? If you never thought you’d feel that way about a tea kettle, give the Oxo Uplift a chance.
Pros: You put water in it, and it boils! Oh, wait. It's SUPPOSED to do that. Cons: Stains like Grampa's WWII helmet. Also falls apart like his teeth.
Even if the only thing you make for dinner is reservations, even if your culinary skills result in burnt salad, you are capable of boiling water. Here's the recipe: 1. Pour water into a heatproof, preferably heat-conducive vessel. 2. Place said ...
Pros: Cool, automatic operation. Sleak design. Easy lid removal Cons: A little awkward to fill, as with most kettles
The whistle stopper opens automatically when you lift to pour, closes as you place it on a burner. Easy for people with arthritis to use. If you wrap your hand around the handle, you can reach down with your fingers and grab the lid. You can then ...
Pros: Easy pour Cons: Defective lid design; poor service.
I bought this product because of its easy pour design. Unfortunately the lid is defectively designed and falls apart due to the heat of the boiling water. The customer service department was not much help. First they accused me of causing the problem by applying too high heat to the kettle, but that was not the problem because the flame never extended around the sides of the kettle. Then they said they would send me a replacement lid. Instead I got a return authorization telling me to find a sturdy box in which to return the defective lid. I had expected to be able to return the lid in the box they used to send me the replacement lid, as other manufacturers do. Very inconvenient.
Pros: The kettle is attractive. Cons: It spits water as it boils, it's very heavy, and is hard to pour from.
I bought the tea kettle in Australia in 2006. The kettle is exactly like the ones sold here in the US. I was looking for a really good tea kettle and it looked as if it was perfect. Little did I know...
The tea kettle is one of the most useless tea kettles I have ever owned. The water spills over on the burner as it begins to boil and the kettle is incredibly hard to pour from. To pour the last little bit of hot water out of it into a cup is an impossibility. The water goes everywhere but in the cup.
The kettle is heavier than most, especially with water in it.
In addition, the design with the lid curved over the body of the tea kettle prevents you from filling the kettle to the top. This is probably good as the design would make the water pour out of the spout. It is a very poor design.
my grandmother has had two, and i currently have this tea kettle. while is is a decent tea kettle, it does stop whistling after a bit of use. i have hard water, my grandmother does not, so i doubt that is the cause. just expect to replace it after a while.
Great Product, Great Service by letterstomary ,Aug 25 '09
Pros: Attractive design, ease of use, reliable whistle, comfotable handle, easy to pour, not too heavy. Cons: None!
I have had two Oxo uplift teakettles and loved them both. I recently damaged the lid and OXO customer service sent a replacement quickly and free of charge! The kettle itself performs beautifully.
The OXO uplift tea pot should be recalled by suzy88 ,Feb 12 '06
Pros: Nice sleek looking kettle, with good design if it worked. Cons: It doesn't work correctly, and has numerous problems. After 2 years whistle not working.
First 2 were replaced free of charge, whistle didn't work. This 3rd one has worked well for over 2 years, however now the front part of the handle DISCONNECTS! from the kettle..a very dangerous situation. Generally their products are exceptional and we are please with the durability, but this is a mistake.
