Pros: durable, versatile, easy to learn and use Cons: lack of tapes available locally, wasted tape
I'll admit it. When I first brought home my label maker, I thought I might need to join my local chapter of labelmaker's anonymous! I can remember the poor excuse for a label maker that we owned when I was a child. You remember...crummy plastic tape that...
Pros: Many features, many uses Cons: Replacement tapes can be spendy
On a whim, I put this on my Christmas list last year. I was quite amazed that my husband actually put it under the tree. Since then, I have found so many uses for this little wonder.
I like things neatly labeled and organized but my...
Pros: Produces very durable laminated labels with strong adhesive Cons: middling print resolution, no carrying handle, print button location, expensive tapes
Aloha! I have owned this label maker for almost two years, and it has come in very handy for various household labeling tasks. The PT310 uses 6 AA batteries that have not needed to be replaced yet. It is relatively easy to use. You simply type on the...
Pros: Easy cartridge changing. Many types available. Cons: Pricey cartridges
This machine works great. Very handy to be able to use 3/4" wide tapes. Very easy to swap cartridges (I have about 6 going, of various colors and sizes, for different needs).
Has a good character set, including accented foreign letters.
Can print nice bold labels in "Big" mode.
Cartridges are on the whole pretty expensive (as are all P-Touch tapes); try to buy them online at a discount. (This unit uses type "TZ" tapes.)
Brother *still* hasn't seen fit to provide us with a handy place to store the "Magic wand" tool (which is used to bend the tapes to help peel off the backing).
It has been quite reliable, moreso than smaller units.
