Pros: Good sound quality (for DBS); records (time shifts) XM radio; plays MP3's and WMA files Cons: Limited memory, portable live XM listening needs accessory headphones, FM modulator limited to car dock.
Good, you are doing research into the Pioneer Inno before spending anywhere from $130.00 to $350.00 (with accessories) for a specialized product designed for a specialized audience. First let me begin by telling you what the Pioneer Inno XM receiver ...
Pros: Audio quality, storage, choice. Cons: If you don't live in a city direct line of site needed.
Well, it is 2007 and I finally did it, I purchased satellite radio. I made my purchase on a Sunday (more about that later), based on a full page ad in the New York Times about the Sirius XM merger. Reasons I haven’t purchase Satellite radio ...
Pros: A good quality XM radio with some media player functionality. Cons: Limited battery life, and poor memory capacity.
I've installed & used nearly all Sirius & XM satellite "dockable" units, including the Audiovox Xpress R unit. Note: I formerly owned an Inno and now own an XPress RC. General Layout: The Pioneer Inno is somewhat similiar to the SkyFi 3 in ...
Pros: Impressive color screen, and don't need a home/car dock to play. Cons: Expensive still at $350, for hardcore music fans only.
Pioneer XM2go Inno Satellite Radio Receiver Pioneer's new toy sure has drawn attention, thanks to electronic magazines and the RIAA. It has been called the IPOD killer. I doubt kill is the word. However it's nice, but very expensive toy, for what ...

Everybody has an MP3 player these days! They wear them on armbands, they clip on belts, and some are even built into sunglasses! Simply stated, people love to carry their tunes with them. (This was particularly evident 20 years ago when we all carried ...
Pros: MP3 downloading, song recording, color screen, sleek design, light-weight, bookmarking capabilities Cons: Poor reception, no Mac software, confusing buttons, sticky power button
I bought the Inno when my XM MiFi personal receiver stopped working with expectations that this new device would afford both better reception as a handheld, and and easier user-interface. I have been using the device for about a month now, and have ...
Pros: Small, compact, all in one, xm has great channels Cons: monthly subscription

Pros: Works well if it is in the Home Dock, attached to an antenna. Cons: No reception when not docked. Very poor reception in car dock.
I've had my Inno for about one week now. I truly feel like XM has stolen $500 ($399 for the Inno, $70 for the car kit, tax). I can not express this strongly enough; no reception, no reception, no reception. I went for a thirty minute walk this ...

Inno2 battery: A giant step backwards by ksgatl ,Dec 17 '07
Pros: Attractive and easy to use Cons: Battery isn't worth spit
The Inno2 is a nice, compact unit, with satisfactory ergonomics, and fairly good reception. BUT the rechargeable battery is woefully inadequate. Direct XM listening at minimal volume, yields 4 - 5 hours before the unit shuts down, despite minimal scrolling and minimal display. Considering my old i River MP3 which utilizes a mirco hardrive is good for @ 10 hours before it needs a recharge, I was very disappointed with the Inno. Pioneer's 'tech support' consisted of telling me that 'that was an engineering decision'. Worthless. XM radio customer support is abominable. Shunted to three different reps who knew zero, and told me to contact Pioneer.
Pros: Neat screen display. Small, sturdy feel. Cons: Little or no reception when used as a portable.
I have had a roady2 for some time now and have been very
happy with it. XM has some good stations and I wanted so
much to be able to walk around the house and listen to
XM with the radio attached to my belt or in my pocket. If
that is your wish DO NOT get the Inno. If you hook the
portable to the home adapter antenna pointed south then
it works well. However, that takes away the portability of
the unit. The unit is highly directional. It comes with a leather case that has a belt
clip. If I stood with the unit mounted on my belt all I had to
do was twist a little and it would lose any signal it had if I could get it to get one at all. I am taking mine back having never activated it. I am very angry at Pioneer and XM for advertising this unit as a portable.
Pros: The ability to record songs is a plus and the graphics are easy to read. Cons: This radio will not hold a signal when its not docked.
I replaced a Roady with this unit because of advertisements claiming the unit is portable with MP3. So far, unless docked in car or at home, it does not maintain a signal. When I called Pioneer to ask if there is something I can do to improve the reception, they told me the unit will lose its signal in wooded areas, indoors, and around tall buildings. To me, this is not acceptable as a portable device. Can't use it when running or exercising, can't use it cutting the grass, can't use it at work. Unless you are content using this "portable" unit in one place, it probably is not for you and I would not recommend.
Most disappointing is that Pioneer does not believe there is a problem with the lack of performance with their product.
It is misleading for Pioneer AND XM to promote this product as being portable.
Caveat Emptor with this one! by zzyzxx ,Sep 27 '06
Pros: It looks pretty cool, and it's small. Cons: Reliability, battery life, and warranty issues make the Inno a very expensive paperweight.
There are some serious problems with this radio:
1) Reliability is terrible. Mine went to a "Scanning Files" screen - PERMANENTLY, after only about 7 weeks of use. It won't do anything, it can't be reset by removing the battery, and the USB port is dead.
2) The battery life is terrible, when the radio did work. If you're lucky, it may last an hour, but most times, much less. It seems to use power even when it's switched off, and left in the charger.
3) Pioneer service is horrible. They give you an 800 number to call, however it's only an automated system. It gave me the number of a local authorized service center, but they said the Innos are not repairable - just exchangeable by the dealer. My dealer won't take it back for exchange because I've had it for more than 30 days! So much for the 1 year Pioneer warranty!
