Pros: Springboard module slot, built in calculator Cons: no Flash ROM
The Palm m105 is a unique product that has sparked a new interest in the computer world. I would buy it. It has some great features and the product is worth learning more about. I like the detailed calculator which allows you to complete statistics,...

Pros: Great Features, Best Price! Cons: Not Color
The Observation
The Palm m105 is the best Palm (TM) you can get for the money! That is, if you can find it! The m105 is by far the most popular one sold at retail locations, mostly because of its attractive price tag, usually at around...

Pros: Affordable, easy to use, lightweight, comfortable, ease of back-up. Cons: Battery life, screen could be bigger, flaw in calendar function.
This is my first PDA. Since I like to consider myself up to date on all the gadgets, I felt left out on this one. I was looking for one that had the most functions for the best price. This one seemed to fit the bill nicely.
I went to the store...

Pros: Inexpensive, great for keeping addresses and dates handy Cons: No expansion, black & white screen
I was hanging out with some programmer friends in our office one day, and I made sure to note what kind of handheld PDA's they had. I figured these guys would have the best of the best, right? Nope. One guy had a IIIc he'd bought new 2 years ago and...

Pros: Nice size, long battery life, clock at the push of a button Cons: small screen, not in color
The palm m105 is a nice PDA in that it is small and easy to carry around. It has a nice feature for the clock were it can be viewed at the push of a button. The m105 is also nice because it has 8MB of RAM rather than the m100s 2MB of RAM. I would rather...

Pros: Price, features, ease of use Cons: No colour display, 8 MB mem
I bought this Palm, for only a few uses. Keep track of appointments, and address book. Well it certainly was worth the price for these two items. I have since added documents to go, and now my Palm keeps track of my work in a spreadsheet I use on my PC....

Pros: Palm OS is great! 8 meg RAM! Reasonably small size! Cute! Cons: Visor deluxe has same 8 meg + OS, larger screen, no flimsy flip cover
In my house, we have 3 Palm OS PDA's - a comparison
M105:
- Screen too small and screen recess too deep
- Powered with batteries
- Extremely flimsy flip down shield
- 8 meg RAM
- less screen contrast than other 2 units...

Pros: Technologically sound, smooth operation Cons: Screen is fairly small and modem is absent, price is steep
For the most part, this product is extremely overrated. As the advertisements indicated, I was expecting the Palm m105 to be an excellent addition to my everyday life. I have purchased the older models of the Palm Pilot in the past and I was pleased...

great for people who dont need color
by binarypc ,Nov 04 '03
Pros: cheap, good mem, nice screen, functional Cons: non-color, no modem
i love this PDA! It is great, loads of memory for beginners, and you can put whatever you want on it (except for a modem). Yep, I would reccomend this soo badly. Its a great palm.
The only things that could improve would be a color screen and modem attachment...
if you want a cheap solution get this!

Major flaw, otherwise immensely useful
by mattmania ,Mar 29 '05
Pros: Cheap to operate (2 AA per month) and buy. Palm OS, cradle. Cons: Data loss with battery swap of anything not previously sync'ed.
The bad: Every time I have to change the batteries (which I have learned to do in about 5 seconds) the data in the unit is lost. So you need to pay close attention to your battery level, and sync the data before you swap batteries. Sync frequently! Don't leave it in your cold car! Also, the screen is small for my eyes.
The Good: Great interface (Palm OS), connecting to AvantGo.com to get loads of news, content with every sync. Great way to keep all indespensible info, reminders, etc.. on your person at all times. Sturdy, comfortable unit. excellent compromise of size and functionality.

Gets the job done
by jdmorton ,Jan 12 '04
Pros: Cheap more than enough memory for the average person Cons: Uses AAA batteries instead of a built in rechargeable
If you're looking for an all in one Cell phone/Camera/MP3 player/microwave oven then keep looking. This is a great deal if you know what you're going to use this for, a date book, address book, notepad etc. I use this for a few things, addresses, phone numbers, a few games and for AvantGo. AvantGo is a website that offers mobile versions of websites that can be updated when you HotSync. I originally bought this to be organized and keep all of my appointments. That lasted about a month. I'm glad I didn't spend the extra $400 to get the top of the line colour Palm because it would have been a waste. Before you spend $500+ on a PDA consider buying a cheaper one from a store with a good return policy. Use it for the 30 or 60 days and then decide if you really need that camera or the MP3 player built in. The only thing I don't like about this unit is that it uses AAA batteries. I wish it had a rechargeable pack built in.

Quality not great -- broke far sooner than it should have
by santelmannl ,Oct 10 '04
Pros: Price and functionality - cheap and has all basic functions. Cons: Quality is lousy. Didn't last nearly as long as it should have.
I need a basic organizer with no bells and whistles and decided on this after my ancient Palm (the original!) hit the floor once too often.
While this one has all the functionality that I needed, the quality and durability are really lousy! The flip cover broke within the first 6 months, and now less than a year later the on-off button has gone. No way to repair.
My palm was not abused -- just carried to work in a pocket of my bag, and taken out and used 3-4 times a day. This was clearly not well constructed. I'm seriously doubting whether to buy another Palm based on this experience.
Also, every time I changed batteries, I would lose all of my data. Very, very frustrating. I was good about syncing it, so I rarely lost anything important, but my earlier model never lost data when I changed the batteries.

Palm m105 for business not pleasure!
by aquariguy89 ,Mar 02 '04
Pros: Easy usability, its notepad, its easy hot-sync capabilities and downloading capabilities. Cons: No color screen, graffiti writing style and it's shape can sometimes be weird to store .
The Palm m105 is an excellent item for its original purpose to keep your schedule in order. If your looking for games a color screen you may want to look elsewhere. But if you just want to keep your schedule intact and your life in-order (as much as you can) and some small entertainment. This is the item for you! The easy usability and straightforwardness of this product is definitely for the on the go person. This is great for business people, Parent, and the busy teen. The Palm m105 has AOL, Date planner, and Note Pad among other things.
