Pros: Does a great job converting tape to DVD- best on the market.
Cons: Poorly written manual. Don't expect to be able to 'time shift' in today's digital world.
Summary: In today's digital TV world I could not recommend the unit to time shift programs. But that's not what I bought my first Panasonic DMR unit for anyway. I use the units strictly for converting video tape- both digital and analog, to DVD. This requires the ... read more

Pros: Convenient. Made good DVDs. Not heavy (for taking it back for repair...)
Cons: Unreliable. Died after 18 months. Couldn't make 16:9 DVDs. Not good.

Pros: Easy to set recordings. Plenty of disc space.
Cons: Expensive.

Pros: Complete - works out of the box - really functional
Cons: Price - and as with other multipurpose items, you need to follow the instructions

Pros: Many features, small in size and upconverts to a high definition TV!
Cons: Not really inexpensive at about $450, and lacks good documentation!

Pros: Works well, easy to use, essential part of my entertainment system. Well done Panasonic.
Cons: Confusing manual. Needs XP to work best. Cost of DL discs. Editing takes time.

Pros: Recording to the hard drive then doing a high speed dump to a DVD-R.
Cons: Only one the price.
