Pros: Nice, light, close shave Cons: Long cleaning cycle, no abort option
I go back and forth with electric and blade razors: I like the ease of use and lack of irritation that the electrics give me, but I like the closeness and accuracy of a blade. The last electric I had was a Braun - when they first came out with that ...

Pros: Fast motor speed, smooth even shave, wet shave, easy cleaning. Cons: Expensive, hard to find in stores, 1 year warranty.
I am one of those people with a tough beard who have never had much success with electric Shavers. I discovered the Panasonic linear motor a few years ago and it was okay for me - not the perfect shave, but a time-saver that coped with my beard because ...

Pros: 1Hr charging, built in mustache trimmer, pivoting head , can be used in shower. Cons: Price, same as cheaper Panasonic ES8109S with out gold and wood trim
I have this razor for over a year now and love it. It can be used wet, dry, with lotion, or no lotion at all. I have owned and used Norleco and a old 1970's Remington. None of them can compare to the performance, features, ease of use, and pivoting head ...

Panasonic Vortex Shaver with Hydraclean
by mtmulrooney ,Dec 15 '08
Pros: good, well-priced shaver Cons: can't find the mandatory cartridge cleaning refills at any retail store, must order from Panasonic
After reading favorable reviews, I purchased three of these last Christmas. My sons LOVED the shaver. But, guess what, the cleaning cartridge refills [panasonic product WES035P] are impossible to find in any retail outlet, not even Walgreens or Walmart carries them. So, you are FORCED to purchase them from Panasonic and pay their shipping charges--they recommend you change the cartridge monthly, which gives you an added cost of $5-$8 per month (once you include the SHIPPING CHARGE for the cartridges). So, think twice BEFORE you buy this seemingly well-priced, nice razor. The maintenance for it (the cleaining cartridges) will be more than your monthly newspaper subscription. I would spend the extra money and buy the Braun 360--it's a great shaver and Walmart carries their cartridge refills.
