Pros: Price, picture quality, resolution, features, included accessories, RAW, size, weight, large LCD Cons: No super-wide angle, overly-aggressive noise reduction
I have always like mega-zoom cameras from Panasonic. I have started using them beginning with the 2-Megapixel FZ1 and went through the FZ3, FZ4 , 5
-Megapixel
Panasonic FZ5 and 6-Megapixel ...
Pros: Everything. Cons: Movie sound isnt the best. Better "use flash" indicator is needed. Thats it!
Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ-8 Out of the box: The camera comes with all the accessories to get you going, except a SDHC memory card ( you can re-use your old SD card up to 2 Gb). The battery must be charged ( takes 2 hours...not ...
Pros: Picture quality, excellent automatic operation, easy to use manual operation, RAW format. Cons: The lens adapter limits wide angle use, limited f-stop, ISO, shutter speed. No data/time stamp.
The Panasonic DMC-FZ28 is the best compact digital camera I've used yet. Between the excellent Leica lens, the ability to save in RAW format, and the very effective operating software, this little Panasonic will do almost anything I ask of it. ...
Pros: Wonderful zoom, good image stabiliser, nice colours, sharp images Cons: Light artifacts on pictures that require lens shielding
After my Olympus SP-550UZ compared unfavourably with my experiences of Panasonic Lumix cameras, I went out and got myself another Lumix - the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 to be precise. I'd already had good experiences with the Lumix DMC-FZ5 and DMC-FZ50, ...
Pros: Great array of controls. Love the joystick, baby SLR feel, long zoom. Cons: Would like less ISO noise and wider angle when zoomed out.
I got back into photography after a 10-12 year hiatus. I started with a point-and-shoot Kodak, but it was obvious that that wasn't going to cut it. I needed something that was easy and quick to use, but had a good assortment of manual controls. I ...
Pros: Zoom, Image Stability, flash, ease of use with menus Cons: lens cap, size
I thought I would write a review finally on my FZ7 that I have owned for about 8 months. I figured since the FZ7 and 8 are very similar I would write it here. My FZ7 has been really great. Especially for the price. I now know 4 people that have bought ...

I am no camera expert -- I will be the FIRST to admit it. I thought I wanted an SLR - until I saw the price tag and realized I do not know enough about photography to even use the options available. that said ... here is my "lay-man terms" review. ...
Pros: huge focus range, good image quality, excellent image stabilization Cons: noise apparent in pictures past iso 400, not a great low light camera
I was on the verge of buying a DSLR (Nikon D40) and I'm glad I did not. For about half the $$$ I got a digital camera that has a wide focal range (12x) and the focal range can be increased if you lower the mega pixels of the picture. The autofocus is excellent and the image stability is awesome. The only draw back to the camera is the amount of noise the images have once you pass ISO setting over 400. It's not the best low light camera either. But, almost all digital cameras have the same issues - so, I'm not worried about it. Overall - lowering the noise reduction to low gives you excellent picture quality with very little distortion and color fluctuations. I highly recommend this camera. It has tons of manual controls for more professional photographers and also a simple mode for beginners!
Small camera with big features by saintinport ,Aug 16 '07
Pros: Every thing. Image stabilizer is great Cons: The only con is the the lens hood that I never use its kinda cheep
I read a lot of reviews before buying my first digital camera. You see I'm from the old school in photography. Things like white balance confused me, we did all that with filters. So easy these days. I got out of photography when digital came around.
After reading and looking at what I could afford, the Lumix DMC FZ8 fit the bill, and what a camera it is. With it, I'm feeling like I did with my Cannon's and Nikon's You wont be sorry you bought this camera. I get rave reviews at with the photos I show people.
Forget what the pro out there say about the noise I shoot from 100 to 400 din and I would compare it to Nikon or Cannon in the same category.
Pros: ISO/Apperature adjustments
Incredible video footage
Amazing steadyshot feature Cons: Some grainy pictures
Large lens extends from body
I purchased this camera to use on at concerts hoping to get some decent pics. This is the first camera that I was able to get clear, focused pictures of concerts with high stage lighting, it's a wonderful little camera and it's video feature is one of the best I've seen for this price.
