Pros: Price, 6x optical zoom, compact, image stabilization, speed, image quality, battery life Cons: Slight corner softness, chromatic aberration and vignetting in corners
After having a generally positive experience with the 4
-Megapixel
Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ1, I decided to try the, otherwise similar, 5-Megapixel Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2. After all, it is difficult to find a combination ...
Pros: 6x zoom, image stabilization, AA batteries, small size, good battery life. Cons: I didn't like the colors as much as other brands. Stabilization only 1-2 stops effective.
I wanted a pocketable camera with image stabilization and a lot of zoom, but this camera was slightly disappointing. While the 6x zoom is very nice, the image stabilization benefits are partly negated by the heavy noise reduction at higher ISO. Hence, ...
Pros: Ease of use, Compact, Zoom. Cons: Quality is sometimes iffy
I was very interested in how cameras work and in photography as a whole, so i decided to purchase one. I was very new to photography at the time, (i had only used throw-away cameras until then)and didn't have the largest budget out there. So after a ...
Pros: 6x opt zoom, 5 mp res, price, loaded w/ features Cons: bad video, lack of manual controls, no viewfinder
By the time you've gotten to this review, you have most likely discovered that this camera is a world class product combining the best zoom and resolution for under $200, along with extra features too numerous for anyone but Steve Jobs to fully ...
Pros: OIS/ 6X optical zoom/ large LCD screen/ great for price Cons: Major noise issues; highest ISO 400; no optical viewfinder
Ahhh, Panasonic DMC-LZ2... you coulda been something. Ya coulda been a contender. Instead you are a near perfect camera whose flaws outstrip its strengths, to the point where I can't recommend it as nothing more than a good starter camera. Before I ...
Pros: GREAT PRICE, 6X ZOOM, IMAGE STABILIZATION, WORKS ON 2 AA, GOOD SPEED Cons: NO 640X480 VIDEO, NO VIEWFINDER, SOME DELAY BET PICS IN FLASH MODE
There is a proliferation of digital cameras in the industry. In my opinion, at the time of writing, they can be broadly categorized as 1. super small size digital cameras with all point and shoot camera features plus some advance features, because ...
Pros: Great zoom, picture quality, battery life, size, overall value. Cons: Does not come with memory card, only has 14 MB internal memory.
Small size, big features. I am not a Professional by any means when it comes to photography, but I do like to take pictures of family, Auctions, etc. This is my second digital camera. My first was a Canon A95. It took decent pictures but the battery ...
If you are looking for a little pocket or purse camera with a reasonably long zoom and image stabilization, you have only a few choices, all from Panasonic: the LZ2 (5MP), the 4MP LZ1 and the stylish FX9. I purchased the LZ2 as a second camera. It comes ...
Pros: 6x optical zoom, image stabilization, AA batteries, small size, price Cons: Indoor/low light, no view finder
I can't begin to get into technical details...numbers... etc. That's best left to those who really know and understand those elements. I'm simply someone who wanted a reliable point & shoot digital camera with a zoom over 3X, but without the bulk of a ...
Pros: Picture-taking and video in one device, ability to use SD cards, no special batteries Cons: Videos can be "shaky" and usually have terrible "wind noise" in the background
My sweetie backed over his last camera with the car, thus prompting our need for a new one. It's been a year since we've purchased the LZ2 and we love it! It's like having a fancy camera and a camcorder -- in one small package! We've taken this ...
Pros: Price is under 200 bucks and the quality of the pix are beyond good. Cons: Uses Quick Time for the Vid. It should use MPG.
I got the LZ72 to replace my still working Fuji 1.3. Yeah, I bought the Fuji when 98se first hit the market. The LZ2 knocked my socks off! At first, it was complicated because so few controls do so many things. I was quite frankly beyond whelmed. ...
Pros: Great on battery life. Separate compartments for batteries, memory card, and computer plugs. Convenient size! Cons: None that I can think of! :)
I wanted a new camera to replace an older camera. I received this for my birthday last year, so I have been using this camera for around a year now. I think it's great! I'm not a professional photographer by any means, but I'm pleased with the picture quality. This camera is super easy to use and fun to experiment with.
Here are some features/items that I especially love:
-The memory card is in a separate slot from the batteries. (My last camera had the memory card with the batteries, so every time I changed the card, I had to reprogram the time and date on the camera! What a pain!)
-This camera is GREAT on batteries. I use rechargeable batteries and can use this camera for days without recharging. It comes with oxyride batteries and has settings for both in the menu.
-This camera is small enough that I can throw it into my purse and carry it with me everywhere.
I can't think of anything that I don't like about this camera!
Pros: 6x optical plus 4x digital zoom for 24x. Cons: Poor auto focus and auto exposure, and mode selector button changes positions too easily.
Good value for the features at the time it was introduced, but I've seen better results.
Most shots have to be photo shopped to sharpen and lighten subjects.
Drains batteries quickly if left in in-between uses.
Pros: it feels nice in your hands in the shop. It has a good specification list Cons: simply doesnt live up to the specification sheet
I paid over the odds for this camera, I had bought panasonic goods before and that meant too much to me. my 4 year old Fuji and one year old Vivitar ( only £70) are easier to use. the lack of an optical viewfinder makes taking pictures a guessing game-point and shoot, take your chances only in daylight conditions!
the stabilisation doesnt work! I read the instructions and just dont get it.
very disapointed that the video playback doesnt have a built in speaker. didnt check in the shop since its standard on the cheeper vivitar. sound recording in video mode is an optional extra! I bought the wrong version at first , man in shop gave me a free upgrade as I was so shocked that a £250 camera didnt include this!maybe as cameras get fancier the quality is dropping to achive price breaks.
using AA batteries is a plus!
Pros: Dependable, affordable, great pix quality, great features Cons: None
I've had this camera for six months and have used it several times a week since I bought it. The video is awesome. The anti-shake is awesome. This camera has no flaws. It's been dropped and mistreated but keeps on taking great pix!
