Pros: Small, light, easy to use Cons: Sometimes difficult to find the right controls
Summary: The last camcorder I purchased was one of those that used a fullsized VCR tape and needed a suitcase to carry it around. I lost access to it in the divorce, and can't say I miss it.

Pros: Reasonable price, easy basic use functions, good quality video, good audio. Cons: Clumsy menu use, poor still images, cheap straps.
Summary: I bought the camera just prior to leaving on a vacation in Canada. Because of the short lead time, I had no real opportunity to do more than skim the instruction manual to find out how to use the basic controls of the camera.
