This VCR can't play back tapes made on other VCRs because its tracking is terrible. It can't even play back tapes IT has recorded without terrible tracking issues: white lines across the screen, distorted sound. I bought it for the features, and I had to buy another SONY VCR to playback my old SONY tapes. DON'T BUY THIS VCR.
