Pros: battery life, settings, easy to operate out of the box, Panasonic customer service, zoom lens Cons: focus in low light, weak macro, graininess (keep in mind I'm picky
My husband chose this camera for me for my birthday. It was a great started camera for me. I'd never have learned how to take good pictures without a digital camera. It is pretty quick to save to the card and be ready for another photo plus you can take ...

Pros: Excellent camera, zoom, professional quality photos Cons: battery life
This camera is amazing. I have all the fun stuff a pro needs but with the ease of a point and shot camera. The zoom is amazing and the stablizer helps you to capture those far zoomed images without blur. How many cameras do you see nowadays with ...

Good for amateur, bad for pro
by hieutl ,Dec 12 '06
Pros: Good quality lens with IS, battery life Cons: Noise for ISO over 100, 4MP, bad focus and picture quality in dark
I had this camera for 1.5 year. From that time, I took nearly 13.000 shots with this camera. This camera has very good lens which help you to take very sharp and bright pictures.
This is a good camera for a amateur with a combination of semi-pro functions in a quite compact size and weight (whith these fuctions in a pro camera, you have to carry things in a big back pack), so it is more covenient for travelling trips.
Once you get used to it and know how to make use of its functions, you will like this camera.

Good all-around camera
by k1200too ,Jan 16 '08
Pros: zoom ratio, lens quality, viewfinder, hot shoe, image stabilization Cons: viewfinder refresh rate, auto-exposure
My selection criteria were these: 1. zoom ratio, 2. SD card, 3. viewfinder, 4. price, 5. hot shoe.
I have a compact Panasonic that has been satisfactory so I began with Panasonic in my search. The FZ10 met all five of my criteria.
The primary use of this camera is for taking roadracing motorcycle pictures. There the image stabilization is helpful, but the electronic viewfinder is a disappointment. The refresh rate is too slow to follow a fast-moving object. Another weakness is that it tends to overexpose. I must pre-focus on an area that gives the correct exposure and lock that setting. Otherwise, the FZ10 is an excellent picture-taker with enough features to entertain me for a long time.

REVIEW ON FZ10
by kool100vr4 ,Aug 26 '06
Pros: good camera for its price range. Cons: slow af, and in dark.
i have owned fz10, fz15, fz7, fz20, fz30..fz10 is the worst one out of the bunch. its the 1st generation on fz series..its got less features.got fringes, n noisy. not as sharp as the rest..slow focus in dark, images are good, but not near the others..fz15, fz20 and fz30 are best bet..if you want one, buy the fz20 or fz30..
i bought my fz10 used from ebay for 142$, still for the price its a great camera to shoot all day..
i have 3 raynox wide and tele lenses adapter to use on all my fzs, but on fz10 raynox dont seem to work as good as on my fz20..

Killer ZOOM!
by j371955 ,Jul 06 '06
Pros: 12X Optical Zoom with Image Stabilization Cons: Only 4 Megapixel. Extra Batteries very expensive.
Bought this camera when it first came out and haven't been dissappointed. The 12X optical zoom is the best I've ever seen then or since.
While this isn't a pro grade SLR digital it's more than enough for the enthusiast not wanting to spend $1,000 or more.
Uses SD memory cards that are widely available, especially now for very reasonable prices. Don't buy the cheapest you can find or you'll trade memory speed for size. Slower speed memory means it will take longer to save each picture.
This is now an obsolete model, replaced by ones with higher Megapixel capacity per photo but still relevant and useable.
The battery is specifically made for the camera, rechargeable with a long life. Replacements and extra batteries are still quite expensive.
Very little useable photo editing software provided with the camera.
