I've only owned the sa-he70 for two weeks but it has been through a number of my own tests.
After having owned a Yamaha DSP-2070 for the last 9 years I was amazed how much better Dolby digital is over Pro logic. For the amount I invested in the 2070, $1800.00 , I expected the sound of the Panasonic to be less than par compared to what I've be used to. But when I popped the DVD, "Saving Private Ryan" and forwarded to the Beach scene, my jaw dropped. I have watched and listened to that scene on a few other systems and my new receiver had my heart pounding. That is one of my personal benchmark tests for audio. So after shelving my Yamaha, for the time being, I am going to explore all the movies I have watched in the past and re-listen to all the sounds I might have missed. I would definitely recommend this receiver to a friend. I do wish I had the $1800.00 back I sunk into the 2070, it could help finance the new Mitz. 55" HDTV my wife let me buy for our superbowl party!
