Pros: It lets your travel in time: through the time wasted by commercials, NO FEES Cons: privacy concern (like when you use Blockbuster- they know what you watching).
I waited too long to get my ShowStopper. How do I know it was too long. I know that now because the difference in price I payed now and would have payed a year ago (no subscription fee- it is included in the price) is easily compensated by the time...

Pros: Compress viewing time, built-in TV Guide, nice multi-function remote. Cons: Initial expense, remote consumes lots of batteries, how long will service last?
Let me start by saying this ultimate TV experience. I'm very glad I've got one and I'd do it again. There! With that out of the way, here are some of my gripes:
It's expensive! I paid $600 for the 30 hour model. I'm supposed to get a $100...

Pros: Makes the most of your TV system -cable, broadcast or satellite Cons: still too pricey, IR Blaster needs to be "stickier"
The Panasonic PV-HS2000 allows you to maximize your television service - whether it's cable, satellite or broadcast. It allows you to configure your TV viewing in a way that is most convenient for you. It is true - "It's just TV" - but television is...

Pros: 30 sec commercial skip / 8 sec replay button, no monthly charge, internet record Cons: Difficult setup with certain cable boxes and cable networks, sometimes needs resetting, customer service
This unit allows me to watch TV on my own time and not at the networks mercy. 30 minute shows are reduced to less than 20 minutes, because I am able to quickly skip the commercials with the handy 30 sec skip button. So I can watch 3 shows in 1 hour...

Pros: TV - when you want it, how you want it. Cons: Poor design architecture, and very poor forethought put into design.
This review is for the Panasonic PV-HS 2000, not the 1000.
This product is an excellent example of a product that was made 90% of the way, and the remainder of the details were ignored. In general, the product works well, but with some very...

Pros: Records your favorite shows for you all week, pause live tv Cons: Setup is a little long.
I bought the replay tv one week ago. I love everything about it.
I am a big reality tv watcher and it was always a pain to set the VCR every time I went to work. Now all I have to do is press a few buttons and it will tape my show every time...

Pros: No monthly fee Cons: A bit pricey
Part time on the weekends, I sell these units. Yes, you might think I am biased, but I will try to write this as un-biased as possible.
OK, the first thing that hits you when you see this is the price tag, $400 for the 1000, $500 for the...

Pros: Free TV listings; Easy interface ; Web Control of your home VCR !! Cons: 'Unable to connect' several days in a row- eventually corrects itself.
The biggest benefit I've achieved is that 30-minute sitcoms now typically take me 16 minutes to watch after skipping commercials and the boring parts.
1 hour shows - about 37 minutes.
Main complaint is that the unit doesn't connect...

Pros: Watch at your time not the networks Cons: wrong schedule
I decide it was time to enter the world of digital recording. I had seen tivo but I did not want to have to pay an one time service fee or a monthly service fee. The Replay system has no fees. You just hook it up and connect it to the phone line and it...

Pros: Easy to use, great features Cons: None
I have the 2000 model (same as the 1000 except a bigger hard drive) and it's fantastic. It records as you're watching, so if you get a phone call you can just pause the show to answer the phone. Then when you come back, you just pick up where you left...

Pros: Easy recording of shows Cons: Panasonic's Copyright policy problematic
Please review this product carefully before purchasing.
What Panasonic does not tell you upfront is that the
Showstopper will stop working as advertised when it detects
a Copyrighted signal. Both the Replay and the TiVo devices
do not...

Pros: Easy to use and no monthly fees! Cons: Occasionally freezes up. You need to have a phone plug near the unit.
..if you can find it. I got mine from ubid.com. It's the same as TiVo, yet with no monthly fees! It's very easy to program and I have had no problems with recording.
The 20 hour record time is fine with me. I just record regular sitcoms and a...

Pros: Channel Guide, Pause Live TV Cons: Runs hot, Addictive
My wife has confirmed me a tech junkie and the purchase of a Replay TV reaffirmed that label once I realized few people at work had one or knew exactly how it worked. She thought that it would be another needless expense for my collection of gadgets,...
