Panasonic TH-42PD50U 42 in. EDTV Plasma TV

Pros: Great picture, TV itself looks nice, nice picture setting controls.

Granted I have never owned a hi-def tv (this is actually edtv)but this is the best picture I've ever seen. My brother has an expensive Fujitsu plasma and agrees that this has a better picture. The sound is great although I don't use it because of my surround sound. I haven't noticed any burn-in. I bought a Sanus mount and this TV looks great hanging on my wall.

I bought this unit 3 years ago, and am very satisfied with the purchase. There is no 'burn in', the HD formats come in clear & crisp and have found no faults with this unit worth mentioning. When purchasing the unit, I was able to view a line-up of "Top 10 Brands" in 42" plasma format, side x side, on the same channel (non-HD). Ignoring the branding under each display screen, my eyes kept gong back to this Panasonic model. I am a typical "brand consumer", so was surprised that this Panasonic had the best pixel resolution. I bought it, despite my urge to spend more $.
If it burns out tomorrow, I will have received my $ value. But, it shows no sign of display burn or pixel deterioration.
