Pros: Traction, Sidewall stiffness, treadblock stability, price, mud/snow traction Cons: Grabs a few stones and mudflaps or spats are a must.
I came to this site to look for reviews on these tires but only found two. I was in the market to replace my old 215/75-15s which came standard on my Jeep TJ. I wanted to find a tire that fell into the $500-$600 price range for 5 including the spare. I...
Well... it's not new new, but it was new to us! Anyhow, it came with shudder chrome mod wheels and 31x10.50R15 10-year old cheezy tires. Having tires that big and wheels that heavy on a...
Pros: Great snow traction. Off road styling and use. Affordable. Cons: None Yet.
I recently bought a set of Pathfinder SUV tires for my 1997 Olds Bravada for replacement of my original OEM Michilen's. After doing much research I decided to go with the pathfinder SUV's from Discount Tire Co. For $73 apiece you can't go wrong with...
Once again after 9 months these tires have gone out of round. I again went to Discount to tell of my ordeal, which in turn was told "its your truck, not the tires". Yeah. Right. This is the 3rd set of these that have done this to me, but only after the ...
In scrambling to deal with the Firestone/Explorer tire recall and with Michelins and other premium substitutes in short supply, Discount Tire recommended replacing my Firestone Wilderness AT's with the Pathfinders. I was told these were manufactured by...
Pros: Aggressive look for an SUV and low price
Wider Road tires is much recommended. Cons: May slightly slow down on accelerating speed when compared to normal.
Hello...
I own a Honda Passport 4x4 SUV and I had no problems with the original stock tires that came with it. But after my 60k run with those tires I decided to change them because I've worn them out. I did a research on Pathfinder tires and wow!...
I read many reviews on this tire when searching for new Running gear for my 97 F-150. If it hadn't been for the price, I wouldn't have bought them based on those reviews. HOWEVER, after driving on them for about 10,000 miles now, i have to say I am very pleased. Traction is great on both wet and dry surfaces. The look great, the ride is nice, smooth and quiet. All the people complaining about them.. Get your suspension checked... or maybe learn to drive.
Pros: long lasting, good looks, good dry traction. Discount Tires give free maintenance Cons: hard to balance, tire pull, loud and uncomfortable ride after only 15K. Poor wet/snow traction.
although the OEM tires only last 15K miles they were the most comfortable tires on any SUV I've drove.
Reading all the positive reviews about PATHFINDER SUV tires, I figured I get these to replace my OEM Bridgestone on my Mitsu Montero Sport LTD.
The first two months were pretty sweet with the new tires. But as the third month came up I notice a hard right Tire pull on my drive. Thinking it was alignment and $60 later the mechanic told me my alignment was fine and that it was tire pull. So after 6 rotations and rebalances I still get tire pull and my tires seem out-of-round, not to mention the balancing is never as good as I want it to be. Doing 70mph on the freeway and my car really starts to shake.
Also poor wet and snow traction. Almost killed us slipping on a ice/slush patch.
Good thing the tire rotations/balancing are free service for buying at Discount Tires. (even though they hire a bunch of kids, who think they know it all).
I think the $95 bucks could be better spent on name brand tires like firestone or Bridgestone or yokohamas.
Pros: Cheap, good looking Cons: Erratic wear, loud
I bought these tires because I have several friends that have them and seemed to like them. At first, when they were new, they were pretty nice. Much better than the OEM Continentals I had on my Expedition. Now that I have a few miles on them, they are louder than all-get-out and vibrate like crazy. When I rotated the rear tires to the front, I had a mean shimmy at 75. I had them re-balanced, but it didn't help too much. I also had the pull to the right. Right now, there is still a lot of tread left, but they are cupped really badly. Hopefully I can withstand the last few miles enough to wear down the tread and get another set of a different brand of tire.
Pros: Dual Water channel. Price Cons: Bad Tire for a 4x4 truck
I had purchase this tires 16 months and 25k miles ago. i recently drove my Toyota 4Runner 4 wheel drive to Firestone for a oil change. They had informed me that my tires need to be replaced it again. with 60k mile warranty on the Tires I expected at least 40k. The tires were good for only few months I did the rotation of the tires every 5-6k just like discount tire Recommend it. I notice the poor traction on wet pavement and snow (really rare in TX) Now i have them replaced it with the Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S G051 : 265/70SR16 I really Note the difference between tires. I complain so much about those Pathfinder tires that Discount Tires pro-rated the tires and $55 bucks later for the 4 old tires i came out the door with a $423.67 bill on my hands. The Only good thing about this tires u get what u paid for. so my advice try a different tire than this one
Pros: Looks, Price, quiet tire Cons: Hard to Balance, tire pull
Bought these tires (265-70)to replace the OEM tires on my brand new Silverado (245-70). My choice was driven mostly by the tire's price and looks. I had to have these tires balanced 03 times in order to get an acceptable ride. Now the truck pulls to the right, and after checking alignment, the tires are now the suspects (tire pull). Instead of trying to find out which tire is responsible for the tire pull, I'm returning these tires to Discount Tire and will be switching to Yokohamas hoping to get a better tire and finally be able to fully enjoy my truck. Too bad, because this tire really looks great on my truck, but as other reviewers already mentioned, you get what you paid for
Decent tires if you don't mind LOUD tires. by ramy_1992 ,Jan 05 '06
Pros: Good all season traction. Good looks. Cons: These things hum at all speeds. Very noisy tires. Difficult to balance. Reduced gas mileage.
This is a very good looking tire. Nice deep lugs provide excellent mud and snow traction. Downside is the noise. They are very very loud compared to the GoodYear Wranglers I replaced. Wet traction is outstanding. Cornering is predictable. Price was slightly better than the major brands, but I found that these were made by Kelly Tires (Goodyear) and decided to go for it. If I had the chance again, I would have spent a tad bit more and gotten Yokohama GeoLanders or another set of Wranglers.
Name brand companies seem to produce marginal tires under an alias name as to not out perform their name brand ones.
Watch out for the free replacement certificates. They do not actually replace the tire for free. You must buy another certificate for the replacement tire. Keep this in mind when making your decision. If you get a bad batch of tires (see my other review on the Dominator touring tires) you could spend almost as much as another complete set of tires if you have to keep replacing defective tires.
Great choice for a Ford Ranger with 2 wheel drive by sea101 ,May 05 '07
Pros: Very quiet, smooth ride, good traction, good looking, priced fairly and they a truck tire. Cons: None so far
It must be fate. I went to Costco to buy a set of Michelins even though I don't care for the noisy harsh ride the Michelins were on sale. Lucky for us they did not have any in stock so we decided to check out Discount Tires. We arrived 5 minutes before closing and they had Pathfinders and some others in stock. So we selected the Pathfinder which ended up to be $100.00 more expensive than the Michelins but they would mount them immediately. So we when for them and I can only say that I could not be happier with the service we received and the tires are exactly what we wanted. Something quiet, something comfortable, something stable, something with good overall traction and something durable. What a difference these tires made on our little truck.
Pathfinder tires on crew cab Ford are out of round from the start. by wigley ,Aug 16 '08
Pros: This is the forth set of Pathfinders all were excellent until the last set. Cons: All four tires are out of round.
I also bought tires at discount Tire co and went in after 3000 miles to have my tire rotated and balanced. the tires were out of round discount stated I needed to have my alinement checked. I did two times and no adjustment was needed however they did say that after looking at my tires that two of the four new tires required to much weight to balance that they would not have sold two tires to anyone. I also complained to Discount but they said it was not their problem. Same as so many others I have talked to while waiting on service at Discount. Maybe they are selling seconds.
