Pros: "Find My Way" is P.O.D.'s best; Sonny's vocals have been fortified. *applause*. Cons: "Change The World" is P.O.D.'s worst; some boring lyrics.
You know an album is noteworthy when you set up an online chat party in honor of its first birthday (I hear you snickering). Well, ladies and gentlemen, it's just the magic that Payable on Death works on you. Prepare to soak yourself in it. ...
Pros: Jason Truby's guitar playing, Eternal, a few others Cons: enough with the loud/soft stuff, could use a bit more diversification
Far be it from me to hold back when discussing nu-metal bands, but for some reason, P.O.D. has never really bugged me all that much. To be sure, I dissed their last album Satellite because, quite frankly, it wasn't very good. Sure, it was ...
Pros: Incredible new guitarist, Phil Keaggy guests, Sonny tries something new, bonus disc is hella fun. Cons: A tad short, mostly unimpressive lyrics, Sonny's voice annoying at parts.
Ive always been a fan of the way P.O.Ds sound has progressed through every passing album. I like to see bands who take chances, and dont release the same album multiple times. When P.O.D. got rid of their longtime friend and guitarist, ...
Pros: Several solid tracks. Jason Truby is a great guitarist. Cons: Sonny Sandoval's vocals are average at best. Three weak songs.
Heres one thing Im gonna tell you: 2005 might be my favorite year musically. Several great bands are saying their next CD will come out this year. Theres Thousand Foot Krutch, who easily skipped over a sophomore slump with ...
Pros: Jason is sick, good melody, rocks hard in a less hardcore way Cons: lacks the passion of early releases, bad lyrics sometimes, Change The World
The term metal is used very widely these days. Some people define metal as rock but much harder then usual. Others define it has a type of rock that used low-tuned guitars, and tons of cymbals on the drum set. I however define metal as ...
Pros: A new style of P.O.D?
Great music, excellently produced Cons: A new style of P.O.D?
Repetition used in a lot of songs
I am a relative newcomer to P.O.D. I got into them after hearing their song 'youth of the nation' and went on to buy the album with such song included(Satellite) and was converted as a 'Warrior'( P.O.D's fans name) With great anticipation I waited as ...
Pros: -Truby and the boys make their debut
-Is arguably P.O.D.'s best album Cons: -You will either hate the album or like it
-"The Reasons"
The band P.O.D. first hit it big back in '99 with their breakthrough single, "Southtown" and have been breaking barriers since then. The band became and is one of the hardest hitting Christian Rock acts of all time. The band had 3 previous albums ...
Pros: Asthma and Eternal Cons: Cheesy lyrics, boring guitar riffs
POD is back with a new guitarist and a new sound. You will find no screaming here, just lots of singing. Which is actually real good, a nice change from their last albums. Jason Truby (The new guitar player) from Living Sacrifice, ...
Pros: Great music to relax too,it has some great songs on here Cons: Not enough stand out tracks. Some lyrics could be better
Okay, so after my first hating review of P.O.D.s latest release I'm here to update it to make it more informative and more like all my other reviews. On my first review of this disc I didn't explain much and I didn't say much except that Will you ...
Pros: Truby's Guitar Work, Playstation CD, Good Rock Sound Cons: Few Songs Are 'Average' a little weak in the lyrical department
I've been a big fan of P.O.D for about 7 years, way before they became big. My first album by there's was 'Brown.' It had that raw, rock/rap feel too it. Then P.O.D Signed with Atlantic records and released the 'Warriors E.P.' which eventually led to the ...
Pros: Awesome new style
Cons: Sometimes its repitive
"wildfire" one of my favorite POD songs of all time. Although, the screams at the end of every line gets annoying after listening to it 1000 times. "will You" Great 1st single. the drums at the beginning are awesome. the riffs are great too ...
If you are looking for a good cd, dont buy this one. Their newest only has one good song, and it is already heavily repeated on the radio. it is very hard for me to consider them as a rock band because they are just trying too hard to sound mainstream. "Will you" is a decent song, and was my basis for buying the cd, but upon listening, they are trying to sound rather hip hop/ r&b-ish, and they sound horrid. the instrumentals are decent enough, but the vocals are lacking the tenacity I normally like to see in a good rock lp. I soundly suggest buying any other cd out there.
Pros: In my opinion this album really isn't that commercial Cons: A few songs can be considered commercial (Change The World)
I honestly believe that this is a great album...and I expected the comparisons to Satellite, which is itself a great album, but what I had hoped for was for POD to stray a bit from "radio-friendly" songs, which I think they have done, and which is why I think a lot of people do not care that much for the album...of course, there are a few songs that could be considered in the vein of YOTN and Alive, but for the most part the songs are something that you really wouldn't hear on the radio or what could be considered a single...Wildfire is a great song to open an album with, and the gorgeous Eternal is an even better way to end it...Truby brings another dimension to POD, one that is very welcome, and in a way sorely needed...it's almost as if their sound was getting a bit repetitious, with Satellite not being that much different from TFEOS...I love this band, and I am glad to see them make an album that doesn't live up to people's expectations...
