Gets smelly and dirty due to too many crevices

by maglib , Aug 27 '04
Pros: extra tray and harness system
Cons: too many places for food to get into. Definitely stay away from the white leatherette!
I got this high chair as a gift and at first thought "what a great high chair". I loved how it had an extra removable tray and a cup holder and how the seat moved to different heights and was reclinable. The high chair has a 5 point harness system ...

Not perfect but close

by chretiensucks , Apr 05 '04
Pros: Quality materials, sturdy base
Cons: Casters and brake levers should be larger
My wife and I never knew what to expect when our first baby would finally begin eating solids. But the term “messy eater” is definitely an understatement of our boy. One of the things registered for our baby shower was a Prima Pappa high chair. ...

Not worth the money

by sillymom , Feb 02 '03
Pros: 5-point harness and passive restraint bar, snap-off dinner tray
Cons: Wheels don't roll well, tray doesn't operate well one-handed, 5-point harness straps not well designed
Everyone I know seems to have the Peg Perego high chair and they all love it. Though their models are older than this one and they do have a few complaints, they all said this was the chair to get. I did my research as far as features go and thought...

I love my high chair
by christelt ,Nov 28 '03
Pros: Easy to clean, easy to use 1 handed.
Cons: Not happy with the fabric used on the seat.
When I went shopping for my baby stuff, the store I went to had wonderful help. The people in the specific area of the store knew everything about those products, so when I got to the highchair area, I had a great sales person. I have no clue as to anything as this is my first child, so the sales person showed me a couple of different chairs but told me that I would love this one. I took it down from the shelf and played around with it, they even had a doll for me to hold to practice and I got to do everything I needed with the chair.

Now that I have my son and he is just starting to use the chair, I am very grateful that I have it. Works like a charm and I would recommend these to others. The manufacturer does make other more expensive models, but for the money I think this one is the best.

Pros: Looks good, many features
Cons: Impossible to keep clean, doesn't fit average baby, expensive
Although this is perhaps the best looking high chair on the market (which is why we bought it), from a practical standpoint, it leaves much to be desired. The tray comes up way too high, so unless you have an unusually tall baby, it's difficult for them to get to the food. The tray also doesn't come in close enough to the baby, leaving a huge gap for food to fall through. We purchased the leatherette version, and the fabric is really hard to clean. It looks clean, but when it dries, there's still food stuck in the little indentations. Plus, there are also so many surfaces within reach of carrot-covered hands, most of which have little crevices that I had to use a knife to clean out. It finally got to the point where I couldn't stand to use it anymore.
We put ours in the basement and purchased the Fisher Price Healthy Care, which is only $60 and worth five times that. I hope I can sell the Peg Perego and make a little of that exorbitant price tag back.
