Pros: Cute and fun. And cute. And did I mention how cute it is? Cons: Pricey, and there are some durability and ease of use issues.

Pros: Super cute Cons: doors are too hard to open - tires are wearing out

A fun and expensive toy
by lawnboy2 ,Oct 06 '03
Pros: A fun toy that teaches kids how to drive Cons: Expensive ans some durability issues
My daughter loves her Yellow VW. I think it is teaching her how to drive.
There is a fair amount of assemble out of the box including placement of lots of stickers. Everything worked fine, but the box is very heavy, so be careful with it. The toy is heavy, too: plan to keep it on the garage floor.
The car is very fun for my 5 year old to operate. As other reviews have mentioned, lock out high speed until the driver learns how to control the car well. This is a very popular toy in the neighborhood and can easily cause hard feelings. When driving the car, the driver has to HOLD the gear shifter in reverse to go backwards, it doesn't stay in reverse automatically.
Durability may be an issue. The doors are flimsy, the catches don't hold especially well. The tires are plastic and spin out. We found the seat belts to work well.
