Our experiences:
My husband and I actually held off quite a while before even attempting to purchase a high-chair. We were first-time, newbie parents who didn't even have a clue what we were looking for in a chair, so when we were...
Pros: Folds up tight and compact, locking wheels, adjustable seat. Cons: A bit costly
I openly admit that I am a cheapskate. I honestly could not see paying $170 for a high chair when you could get one that looked similar for $60. Once again my wife is telling me, "I told you so", and I hate it when she does that. The Primo Pappa chair...
Pros: love those wheels; easy to clean; 5-point-harness; recline of seat without tray tipping Cons: price, but nothing else
We purchased this high chair for my third and last child, so we know high chairs! I bought the Prima Poppa high chair with the gray two-toned fabric seat for $160.00 about one year ago.
When I thought about buying this highchair I wasn't...
Pros: Height adjustable, reclines for infants, very safe and sturdy, wheels. Cons: More expensive than some, but worth it!
I bought the Peg Perego Prima Pappa for my daughter when she was about 5 months old and was just starting baby cereal. We lived in Germany at that time, so there were not a lot of highchairs to choose from. Other possibilities included the Chicco Mamma...
Pros: Wheels, Folding, harness, one-handed tray mechanism, reclining, raises and lowers Cons: harness and seatpad cannot be removed to clean, tray has hard-to-clean crevices
I can't say I am "happy" with it now. However, when we first got it I most certainly was! My son was only 4 months old at the time and of course didn't make any mess. Then he got older (now almost 3 1/2) and started making a real mess - so I've found ...
Pros: One of those "Cool" names you think you have to have. Cons: Impossible to clean, looks terrible!
I selected this chair for my son and would have been better off purchasing something from a yard sale! There is no way short of a garden hose to clean it, and a cardboard box may have been more durable. My boy is four and could still use this chair in it's lower position as a youth chair except that the plastic frame is cracked and broken and the vinyl seat is worn so badly that I am embarrassed to have it in the kitchen. My son was never rough on the chair, in fact, he has been in day care and really only used it on evenings and weekends. Of course I could purchase new parts, but I think that something of this nature, and in this price range, should last at least thru one child! After waiting forever for the customer service representative when I called, I was told that there was nothing they were willing to do. My advice...buy something else!
