Pros: Tiny camera takes great pictures Cons: Delay in exposure
This is a great, tiny, 4 megapixel digicam.
Even though it's small, it fits well within my hands and operates intuitively.
It's size lends itself to carrying around for the off-available picture.
On auto it's a point and shoot.

This is a good looking, quality digicam. It's the right size to carry with you at all times and, at 4 megapixels, takes quality pictures. It is easy to use and frame. The time delay and (optional) remote control work well.
It ahs the usual digicam time delay when taking pictures. This means you have to shoot just before you think something will happen - and hope it happens when the camera takes the picture. This is not the best camera I have ever used in situations of less than optimum light. Its flash range is less than 4 meters and it only uses ISO 100 or 200. I'm used to film cameras with which an external flash can cover up to 10 meters and which can use substantially faster film (my 'standard' film speed is ISO 800).
The Optio 430 produces quality pictures within the above guidelines.

I had used a Nikon, Tameron lens, for many years with fine results. The results from my first picture with the Pentax was a spectacular, 8x10 picture. It has a multitude of enormously useful features. Those I have used have done exactly what was expected. It is a tiny, shirt pocket, camera, point and shoot or professional as you wish. I am very pleased and highly recommend it.
