Pros: Works to some degree. Cons: Taste, mixed results, overall value, some home remedies may be just as effective.
I personally have never been a fan of any type of liquid medicine, even as a young child I can remember avoiding the bubble gum flavored Amoxicillin. This being no exception on taste keeping the actual medicine down can be part of the battle. ...

Pepto for Ulcerative Colitis
by earls682 ,Dec 14 '04
Pros: It kills bacteria which cause diarrhea. It assists in fluid absorption and solidifies stools. Cons: I get a ringing in my ears when I take a lot.
I have had Ulcerative Colitis for 35 years. About 10 years ago while I was going to the bathroom 10-15 times a day I read an article which said Pepto-Bismol was part of a cure for Ulcers. I began taking it everyday, about 8 ounces per day. After a week, my colitis symptoms were reduce by half, after 3 weeks, by about 90%. Nothing I had ever been prescribed worked as well. It is one of those well guarded medical secrets. I know others with colitis for whom it has helped. Try it, full force for a week.
