Pros: the first half is well-written and engaging Cons: the second half is flat and filled with bad explanation and boring characters
All children, except one, grow up. If you're anything like me, you've always wondered just why that is. Who is Peter Pan and why doesn't he age? Just how did Captain Hook hook up with that crocodile and why does he hold Peter responsible? How did Peter ...
Pros: Engaging fantasy/adventure story for kids Cons: Too many points of view slow down the final third.
I have always loved Peter Pan. There's something about the character and the story that still appeals to me. So Peter and the Starcatchers was always on my radar. I finally got a chance to read it, and I'm not too surprised to ...
Pros: First half of the book Cons: Most of the second half of the book
With my son completing his first decade of life, we've now entered the stage where he is as likely to introduce books to me as I am to him. Ridley Pearson and Dave Barry's Peter and the Starcatchers is one of those books that I'd planned to ...
Pros: Well written. Action packed. Fun for the whole family. Cons: I still don't know how to fly!!!
I don't know about you, but myself and my children grew up loving Peter Pan and his adventures in Never Land. Infact, I spent many nights looking for a lost shadow and wishing Peter would come to my house to take me on one of those magic adventures. I ...
Pros: great plot Cons: a little bit less interesting towards the end
This is a great book! Except for that towards the end it gets a little bit less exciting. Peter and the four other boys are being shipped from London to an island to serve a king. They board an old ship called the Never Land and Peter meets Molly and ...
Pros: Great at many levels. Very exciting and fun to read for the whole family. Cons: not one.
Our family received this book as a gift for our family. We love to read together. We have a 7 and a 5 year old. We all really enjoyed it. This book is about how Peter became Peter Pan. Usually when we read, Daddy does the reading. He announces the end of each chapter and most of the time the kids were begging him to read more and I was every time. This book was so fun and interesting as well. There were a few parts in the first half of the book where the kids were disinterested, I think mostly because of the young age of our children. We all really enjoyed this book and just purchased the second book at Costco for $10.
