Not worth the price!
by thypentacle ,Aug 27 '06
Pros: Nice design, mostly good picture on high color slow moving scenes, DVDs ONLY. OK sound. Cons: It's a very low end LCD TV... simply put.
I had this one for about two days before I got sick of it and took it back. For these reasons:
1. The picture looks fuzzy all the time with analog TV signals and even during DVD playback, but not as bad.
2. Black level was horrible on this, as with almost all low end LCD TVs. Any scene with black in it always made the black areas look like it was a faded piece of black construction paper with a light behind it. In other words, not black. No adjusting would correct this issue.
3. Response time/refresh rate does not seem good at all. Fast action scenes with lots of explosions for example make the screen flicker slightly with small ghosting/tracking effects. They are very slight, but still there.
All in all, it is OK for a second TV or maybe one for the kids to watch cartoons on or maybe as a security monitor.
NOTE: I did not test the computer monitor/digital TV aspects of this so can't speak on those.
I however would not take the risk on this one.

Great Picture, not mountable
by winnie3 ,Apr 18 '07
Pros: Beautiful picture, nice design Cons: Not mountable
I bought this used on Ebay for $255, but ended up taking a loss on it because I couldn't mount it like I wanted. The built in stand is not removeable, it folds back and the you must attach the VESA bracket to that...which leaves a standout of at least 3"...unless you want it to pan..then forget it! It's great if only for tabletop viewing. Sorry to see it go...was a great deal!

Half the job, lame support
by geezlouise ,Jan 08 '06
Pros: great picture quality Cons: PC function won't work and bad tech support
This looks great as a TV.....Too bad the DVI input on the back doesn't seem to work. I can't get my PC to display on this thing. My PC works on other monitors with dvi & without, but on this one, it just says "no video input".
And tech support is a joke. They're OBVIOUSLY reading from the manual that I have in my hand, and they have less knowledge of computers than I do.
Why buy a TV/PC monitor when it ONLY works as a TV??
I'm taking this back.

Okay TV. Lousy PC Monitor
by cookepuss ,Jan 26 '07
Pros: Decent enough for analog TV signals
Cons: Poor manual
Awful PC support
Limited PC resolution
Sluggish remote
Clumsy menu
Price feature ratio
As a TV, it works as advertised. The response time on the remote isn't instantaneous, which can get annoying. That's only the tip of the iceberg though.
As a PC monitor, the 20PF5120 stinks. I tested it on a GeForce 7600GS. I _did_ manage to get dual monitor to work, but the manual was useless. Switching to "PC" mode doesn't work. It just registers no signal, despite being detected under Windows.
I had to switch to DVI mode to even hope to get a signal. Even then, I had to fiddle with the Control Panel to independently configure the display res to something smaller than my other LCD. Contrary to what the manual states, it would not even reach 800x600 at any of the desired refresh rates. Sadly, it was limited to 640x480.
My 21" PC monitor cost $100 less and easily handles 1600x1200. Not this TV/monitor. For a 20" LCD you'd expect higher resolutions. Very low end. One would suspect that much of the cost is due to the TV/HD support. Couldn't be the PC support. Strictly amateur hour.
