Pros: They sound great, and they reduce outside noise. Cons: They don't last.
I really love my P
hilips
HDD6330 30GB MP3 player . And I listen to it all the time, just about every day actually. Most of the time, I'm using my P

HE-592 headphones with them ...
Pros: Great sound, three size ear caps Cons: Cable design odd, box hard to open
*This review is based on initial impressions. Long term review will be added later.* I was looking for a good pair of noise cancelling headphones that wouldn't leave me in the poorhouse. I'd used a pair of Bose at the Apple store, but they were as ...
Pros: work like similar priced ($20-$30) in-ear earbuds Cons: not "active" noise-canceling; small control box adds bulk
"Active noise canceling" means that the circuitry should actively listen for noise and generate sound waves to cancel out (usually low frequency hum) noise. There is no microphone which listens for noise and no circuity to cancel unwanted noise, ...
Pros: They are cheap. Cons: They don't cancel noise!
I bought these just prior to a transatlantic flight. I wanted to reduce the background noises to a level where I could enjoy a movie without having to increase the volume to ear-damaging levels. In flight, I wasn't able to detect any noise ...
Pros: Price, feel, noise canceling actually works. Cons: Battery case is in a very inconvenient place. Cord gets tangled easily.
So, here's my story: I happened to be shopping at Target the day before my international flight (17hrs of flying) and saw these headphones. The price: roughly $30 was the largest plus for noise canceling headphones. I had heard bad things about noise ...
Pros: Seem to work well at the front of an aircraft Cons: They hurt my ears and gave me a headache almost immediately.
Just before a flight between Dallas and Detroit (a little less than 3 hours flight time) I purchased a set of Philips Active Noise Canceling in the ear earbuds (HN060) at Target because they were on clearance. The regular price was $49.99, they were ...
Pros: Easy for travel. Block sound on planes. Good bass for small buds. Multiple size options. Cons: Carrying a spare battery. Long-time wear can irritate skin in ear.
Travelling all the time, you learn to lighten the load of what you have to carry. I liked my huge earphones with all the sponge and cushion but my ears started to chafe after a while ... then I borrowed these little tiny ones from my brother one day ...
Pros: Choice of 3 size earplugs Cons: No noise reduction at all
I bought this product for the advertised noise reduction facility as I had a 14 hour flight to go on.
It's a nice fit in the ears as there is a choice of 3 different sizes, but that's the only good thing about it.
I tested it out during my flight and it made absolutely no difference what so ever to the background noise of the aircraft, all it does is to amplify the sound - which can also be done by turning up the volume on the flight control pad. I compared them to the free headset provided on the plane and there was no difference between the two headsets - apart from the price. I also had the opportunity to try a fellow passengers Sony noise reduction headset and I was amazed at the performance, this Sony worked as described and completely eliminated the noise of the aircraft.
Last time I will ever buy anything made by philips.

Pros: For the price, you can't beat them Cons: the box that holds the battery and electronics is in a weird place.
While I don't think the noise cancelling electronics are that impressive (they just seem like a small pre-amp that makes the sound louder), they cut quite a bit of noise. I fly a lot and I really don't hear the airplane noise if music is playing. The wires are designed to run down your back and over your shoulders leaving the electronics/battery box in the center of your chest (I think) - at least that is the way I find it most comfortable to wear them.
Left side stopped working after a few weeks. by leisner ,Feb 03 '07
Pros: Noise Cancelling for cheap, works OK Cons: Quality, comfort and no replacements for adapters
I was disappointed in the quality of these ear buds. They don't stay in your ear and they are cumbersome to handle; the noise canceling control box are pulling on the ear buds and make the fall out.
After 3 weeks of light use the left ear bud stopped working, and I lost one of the adapters, no replacements are available for these ear buds. Don't waste your money on them
These earbuds do not work at all. The rubber piece that fits snug in your ear will reduce some unwanted noise, but the noise cancelling circuit only creates a hissing noise and does nothing against the loud roar of a jet aircraft. Sound quality is on par with the price, what can you expect for something that was free with a DVD player. Bottom line, spend a little money and get something that actually does what it is labeled to do. I'll stick with Bose.

Pros: Relatively inexpensive, good ear seal Cons: Control box
I work in an auto shop w/patrol cars so sirens, air tools, hammering and air compressor are constantly in the background. These earplugs work great they reduce background noise just by their design, the noise reduction circuit seems more like a preamp. I've used them for a little over a half-year carrying a radio in my pocket and finally stopped working at the connector to the radio. My fault constantly taking radio in/out. I'm currently using old style earbuds and I can't wait to go buy another set. Comparing philips to regular earbuds they really cut out lot of noise. I've had to resort to old style ear protection. I will not go back to traditional style earplugs, they seal out sound well enough that I need to remove them to diagose cars most of the times.
Pros: Price, good sound quality for the price Cons: Lots of little, annoying faults in the design.
The headphones themselves are pretty good, but they are also quite a pain in the butt. Here's Why:
The battery box, and on/off switch sets right in the middle of your stomach, and is quite large for its purpose.
If you lose your little earplug caps, your kind of screwed, u can use another sized set(if you saved them) but they wont fit good and keep falling out of your ears.
And most importantly, they dont work without a battery, so if your battery dies no more music until u get a new battery.
For the price they are a good buy, but if you're looking for a pair of headphones that will last a long time, or if you dont want to buy batteries all the time, then these probably aren't the pair for you
Pros: good sound quality, good fitting earbuds.Less then 20 bucks! Cons: the damn box
I have had these buds for couple of months now. I fly often (on average 4 times a week)on both jet aircraft and propeller aircraft. it has worked well in both environments. would be nice if the box would have a clip on it, and a separate volume control. But for less then 20 bucks...what can you expect? excellent value compared to the pricey Bose and Skull candy.
Pros: comfortable Cons: the bulky box pulls them out of my ears
The box that holds the batters is placed in the center of the cord, about 2 feet from either end. When you put on the headphones, the box does not reach my pocket, so it is left dangling around my belly button. It is so heavy that it instantly pulls the buds out of my ears.
They also sound like crap...no bass whatsoever, and the nose canceling is a joke, when you turn it on it just turns up the volume a little bit. Don't waste your money.
