Yamaha RH3 Consumer Headphones

Pros: Sleek design, nice sound quality, good replacement set of headphones.
Cons: Takes a while to get used to the band, too much hype about the "extras".

The time had come and gone for a new pair of headphones. Sweat, excessive volume and a compressed cord claimed the life of my former pair of cheap but extremely reliable headphones [Sony T340RS]. I am a sucked for anything that “looks cool” ...

Pros: Good value, awesome bass, amazing sound clarity.
Cons: Flimsy plastic construction

The headphones that originally came with my CD player weren't bad, they just didn't have the sound quality I needed when listening to my music. I was thinking about buying a pair of those giant ear covering headphone that look like ear muffs, but while looking through the store's selection I found these. $19 wasn't bad, and I hoped for that much money it would have some good sound quality...and they delivered. The bass and clarity of these headphones was great, and they were so small, and had the folding feature, that I could just throw them in my pocket on the way out the door. The only problem I had was the their flimsyness. They are completely plastic, and I wound up breaking the part where it folded, but some glue fixed it up.

Styling:
These headphones have a very bizarre styling. They have a hing behind each "phone" , and inside the neckband theres a metal strip that bends inwards, so that when the hing is bent, the neckband bends together and it makes a very, very compact form for storing. The next convenience when storing is that there is only one wire going from your portable to the left headphone, and the wire for the right headphone goes through the neckband. With this, you can wrap the wire around the body when it's folded up.

Sound:
These have outstanding sound. I have yet to find a spot in any song where the speakers distort. The bass can go extremely low, yet never overpowers.

Comfort:
When I first got these, the earclips that are right beside the padding on the speaker can be very irritating. It pushes into the side of your head; however there's no choice but to use the clip, because the wire for that headphone goes through it. These days, the clip doesn't bother me at all; either it is softer, or my ear conformed to it.

Overall, these headphones by Philips are outstanding! I recommend them for everyone.
