Pros: Good price, high power, MP3/WMA/WAV-cd's, satellite-ready. Cons: No true "next random song" button for cd.
After several years, I upgraded my existing aftermarket stereo in my Jeep Cherokee - I was happy with my sound, but I wanted to add satellite radio & play MP3 cd's... Permanent, or Portable Satellite? ------------------------------

I purchased this unit as a replacement for my previous pioneer deck which lasted me 5 years before it died. Considering how much I used it and how hard it hit my 6x9's without the help of an amp, that I got pretty good use of it for just over $100 and ...
Pros: PARAMETRIC EQUALIZER makes this system. The sound is fantastic. Cons: Buttons are very small. Reliability issues.
As I said in my previous review, I returned a SONY CDXGT300 and bought the PIONEER DEHP3800. ______________________________

Pros: Sounds great, enough power, excelent radio and CD player. Lots of controls. Cons: Line-input isn't built in, must be purchased as an add-on.
After purchasing a newer car, I was once again looking for a nice CD player with MP3 capability. After a downright terrible experience with my last one (a Clarion) I decided to give Pioneer a try. After a little searching, I picked up the 3800MP from ...
Pros: High Pass Filter, Quick power-on/track to track reads. Cons: Don't recommend if you like listening to more then 6 preset FM stations often.
I've owned this unit for a few days, it was a Christmas gift, I prolly would have purchased myself based on features/price range. Here's what I like: Sounds great Power-on to ready to play MP3 is quick. My old cheapo unit was very slow ...
Just got the 3800 and it is replacing the Alpine 9841 by bigdg144 ,Jun 25 '06
Pros: easy to use, good reception, priced well Cons: equalizer is tricky..look out for the BSM..will reset all the preset stations
Just got the 3800 and it is replacing the Alpine 9841. Reception is a lot better on the Pioneer and the EQ functionality gives me tones and sounds I never knew my Infinity speakers could produce! Deep Bass and high notes of cymbals! The Alpine just could not pull in radio signals..AM & FM. The 3800 is doing a much better job.. Only problem with 3800 is that the station buttons are difficult to see with sun glasses on. May just be getting used to the unit layout.
All in all, quite pleased and it unquestionably blows away Alpine!
UPDATE: Having it for about a month..moving stations up & down to preset or non preset..is a cinch with the up down buttons easily seen in day or night!
