Pros: More mileage warranty for your money Cons: Nothing yet that is visible and I can think of
Buying a tire can be a little tricky nowadays just by trying to figure out a way not to come out with too much moolah. Brand names, performance, cosmetic looks and of course, the price. It should not be considered complicated but the choices offered...
Pros: Great rain performance, excellent wear, good on bad pavement. Cons: They may -- may -- be slightly louder than the P400s.
For $37 (credit towards the P400s, which were well below warranty mileage and showing wear bars), I got a great deal. Worth every penny. Outstanding in Houston rain. To be specific, better than Aquatreads, P400s, P600s, and Avid Tourings. I *really* ...
Pros: Good traction in rain. Cons: Gas mileage on previous tires were better.
I have a 2002 Mercury Villager minivan. At 37,000 miles I replaced the OEM tires, I think they were Goodrich brand, with the P3000s. My top three criteria for tires are traction, traction, & traction. The next is value. I do not want to ...
Pros: Great Traction in all weather (including snow)
Accelerate and Brake with confidence Cons: Hard to make the tires spin at red-lights, but is possible.
These tires were bought in early November and tested through rain and dry pavement and now December has rolled around with a winter storm dumping around foot of snow. On normal breaking and driving these tires accelerate and stop with confidence. ...
The original Goodyear RS-A's on my Ford Focus (195/65-R15) were showing a lot of wear after 50,000 miles and therefore it was time to get new tires. The Goodyear's were ok, but seemed a little noisy. After doing some tire research on the internet I...
I purchased a set of Pirelli P3000s because I wanted a quality tire that handled well in the rain. The Pirelli P3000 handles very well in the rain and wet. They brake well on both dry and wet pavement.
The unexpected bonus I found was that I...
Pros: Quiet ride, good traction, excellent warranty. Cons: Shoulders are a little soft.
I purchased a set for my 2000 VW Jetta, choosing the alternative size, 205/60/15 to the factory 195/65/15 set . I initially expected an increase in rolling resistance, greater noise, and a harsher ride because of the wider tread and shorter...
Pros: traction, winter performance, price, value, safety, durable Cons: Harder tires, higher rolling resistance due to good grip, may use more gas.
This all season tire is very capable in dry, wet, and snow conditions. So forget about getting winter tires and save! The grip on this tire is excellent, can turn with confidence even at a high speed. So far wear on the tire is normal, have not noticed any substantial wear. The ride is just a touch harder than my oem tire that came with the 2000 Toyota Corolla; however not too noticeable. The price of this tire is very reasonable and provides good value. Have driven 8,000km in Canadian roads including one snowy winter season. Would recommend the tire to anyone, especially if you live in a cold region and have to do a lot of winter driving.
Excellent in snow rain and long treadwear by silversurf ,Jan 16 '04
Pros: Long treadwear
Excellent traction in snow ice and rain Cons: slightly higher in price
Best all seasons I've bought so far. Had them on my Honda CRX for over 45000 miles and they only showed 25% wear. Drove with them all year long through snow, ice, and rain and I never lost any traction. Recently put them on my Honda Prelude and drove through some bad snowstorms with up to 4 inches of snow throughout New England and southern Canada without any problems. Felt as if I had snow tires on. I've tried Yokohama Avid H4 and Avid T4's and I was disappointed with their very short treadlife and hydroplaning at low speeds in moderate rain. The Yokohama Avid Touring tires seem pretty good so far but the Pirelli P3000 are still better.
If you want excellent all seasons for snow rain and ice and long treadwear then look no further then the Pirelli P3000.
Pros: good ride and handling. Cons: poor tread life
Chose these tires based on their high millage warranty. Unfortunately I've had to replace all 4 within 24,000 miles. First two didn't even make 16,000 miles. I had them rotated and balanced every 6,000 miles. The tires were great except for the fact that they wear out so quickly.
Pros: Quiet, responsive and priced right! Cons: Haven't found any and I've put one year and 15K miles on them.
When it came time to replace my tires on my 2000 New Beetle, I called the local Les Schwab and was given recommendations and prices. I decided to do a little research on my own and "discovered" the Pirelli P3000. I'm so glad I did. I had to search for a company that had them in stock and found them at Discount Tire. The warranty, price and helpful people there had them on my car and I was off and driving. I felt like I was driving a new car. The response was great and they were quiet. We live in the Pacific NW and we have all kinds of weather to deal with. Now that I'm in the market for new tires for my daughter's car I will purchase these again.
Pros: Great value, handling and ride. Cons: From a practical standpoint: NONE.
Everything is great, handling, ride, traction for all seasons, and especially the warranty. I thought they looked a tad ugly, but driving is pure pleasure and wart free! Definitely a best buy.
Pirelli P3000 is the best tire I ever had by xtianknight ,Jan 17 '04
Pros: Mileage Quiet Performance Cons: NONE!
I got four new 185/60/14. I put about 300 miles on them so far. All is good. No rain or snow yet here. Tire is a little wider than stock, which is good. Tire is quiet and handles great. I give it an "A". I put them on a 2002 Kia Rio.
Other tires I have had in the past (in general)
BF Goodrich
Yokohama
Toyo
Michelins

None compare!
Good all around tire if you want high mileage for your money by fastwaytech ,Nov 06 '06
Pros: High mileage rating, resistance to hydroplaning Cons: Scarey on frosty roads (I am afraid to try them in snow)
I have had these tires on the AWD Turbo Talon for about 2 years now, about 20,000 miles. I do not see any apparent wear. So far, it looks like they should be good to about 60K, maybe even more (I will update later).
These tries are pretty good, the high mileage rating is the best point they have.
Great in dry weather, compared to other tires.
Excellent resistance to hydroplaning! THat is their 2nd strongest point.
When driving on frosty/slightly icey road, these skid/slide easy! I don't know why the other reviewers say these are good on ice and snow? My ABS will engage quite easily if I brake aggressively on frost. Based on this, I'm afraid to try them in the snow!
When the road is wet and slick, the will slide/skid a little.
Overall a good tire for high mileage (if you only want to buy tires once every 5 years or so).
Unbelievable traction for an all season! by pickypaul ,Jan 03 '06
Pros: Traction! Amazing traction for an all season tire! Cons: None yet.
Had Toyo Spectrums put on after my Continental Contacts wore out on my '02 Taurus and hated them! I drove in two little storms and had no grip at all, in fact I thought the worn Conti's gripped just as well as the new Toyo's.
I went back to where I bought them (the day of the second storm) and had them put on the Pirelli P3000's. What a good move, it was like night and day! I was stopping and starting back up on hills that I couldn't get up with a running stop with the Toyo's, I couldn't believe it, I was amazed!
