Pros: Unlimited potential on dry roads Cons: Unsafe in the rain, expensive, lighting-quick lifespan
During the past year I've had a few opportunities to test out the Pirelli P-Zero System Assimetrico tires. These are the OE tires which came with my brother-in-law's 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo. The car is one bad MoFo and this ...
Pros: Good Name, Were on sale, Still Cheap in some places Cons: Ride is horrible, Tramlining, Poor rain/snow grip. Horrible Hydroplaning

Pros: Smooth ride, quiet, and reasonable in bad weather on a luxury sedan. Cons: Probably won't set any high performance handling records on dry pavement.
Mustang tires on a Lexus? Sometimes the weird just works. My certified Lexus LS430 came with the original Dunlop tires. They had the traction control working overtime at the first sign of rain. At the first light snow I slid down my driveway. Time ...
Pros: All out grip in the dry Cons: Marginal performance in anything but dry, Road Noise, Wear, Cost!
I purchased the PZero System Asimmetrico as replacement for Michelin Pilot Sports I had on my 2000 C-2 Cabriolet. I have had these tires for 6 months now, and put about 7500 miles on them. They performed flawlessly in the dry, especially in the canyons ...
Pros: Quiet for a Max Performance tire. Cons: Terrible Tramlining on Los Angeles Freeways.
Pirelli P Zero Nero vs Yokohama ES 100 225/45/17 02/06/2004 Do not buy the Pirelli’s if you live in Southern California and spend much time on the Freeways. The Nero’s wander (tramline) very badly on any freeway section that is grooved to prevent ...
Pros: Great control wet and dry Cons: Very short useful life/ expensive
In the case of most performance tires there is an anticipated shortened life cycle. This is predominantly due to rubber compounds designed to enhance adhesion, which means more friction and usually a less than desirable tread life.
Pros: None so far Cons: poor grip, very stiff ride,
I purchased a set of wheels for my M5 and these came with a set of Pirelli P zero Nero 285-25-ZR20s these tires have been a nightmare. The ride quality is horrible; they don’t absorb any road bumps at all, in fact transfer that vibration straight into the driver seat! Even with the widest tire I can install on my car I still find myself loosing the back end during heavy cornering even on concrete roads. I rather drive a generic brand with A rating than the Neros i have on right now. The tire went flat, on the highway, I took an exit less than a mile away filled it with the BMW tire kit and by the time I made it to a tire shop (less than 3 miles) the tire was damaged and needed replacement just from running down to at 20psi. I drive a monster, so I constantly check tire pressure and alignment, wheel curb damage etc. I know for a fact that I didn’t run that tire flat for very long at all. I know im running very low profile tires therefore a bumpy ride is expected, but Yokohamas Advan ride much better.
Tires that make you enjoy driving. by eduardreznik ,Sep 17 '06
Pros: Great driving on dry, wet, in heavy rain and light snow. Very quiet. Cons: Definitely they are not winter tires. Problems driving on ice and deep snow.
Original tires on my Chrysler 300M were Michelines. I hate them. They were too hard, noisy and did not hold on wet road. I was glad to through them away after 35000. Next were Yokogama Avid. It was really nice driving for about 25000, but then they lost balance and nobody could fix it. After that I decided to try Pirelli P Ziro Nero M+S. This is blessing. They make me smile while driving. They are absolutely great at almost any road condition except ice and deep snow, but I have never expected them to perform as winter tire. They provide a sure cornering and they are much quieter than any other tires which I have ever used. They did last for 45000 miles, after which I bought a second set of Pirelli P Ziro Nero M+S without any doubt in my mind. At this point I have driven almost 33000 on them and they still in good condition. So I highly recommend these tires to everybody.
Pros: Performance wise, Neros did not disappoint. Good tire wear thus far. Cons: What has been a huge issue is bubbles developing on the sidewalls.
I bought these tires as a replacement for the origional set of P-Zeros on my '04 Volvo S60R. Those tires were great performers, but wore out in 18K miles. So I decided to go with another Pirelli with the same performance design, but a harder compound. Performance wise, Neros did not disappoint. I do notice the pulling others have mentioned, but it's not bothersome to me. What has been a huge issue is bubbles developing on the sidewalls. There are only 12k miles on these tires and I now have three of the four blistered, and now split on the sidewalls. I live in a fairly decent area without major pot holes, and I cannot attribute any of these bubbles appearing due to striking an obstruction. Bottom line, I now need to buy four more tires (why buy just three) with only 12k on them. But bet I will not be buying Pirelli's. BTW, I did call Tire rack on this issue and they waffled around and basically stated that happens when you hit things. Funny, I never had any bubbles on the first set - stay away from the Neros.
These were the OE tires on my Boxster S. They were noisy and thumpy from day one. Balancing and alignment helped only a little bit and only for a short time. Handling was only average. Wear was average (25,000 miles), but I would have been better off if they had worn out sooner. Overall, these were the worst tires I have had in 20 years!
