Pros: Small, lightweight, comfortable, good sound quality, multiple ear buds to fit most ear sizes Cons: Gel ear buds come lose
I'm all for keeping your hands free when driving. In Southern California I see too many people barely paying attention to the road while yapping away on their cell phones. That being said, I've never owned a bluetooth headset for my cell phone. Ok, I ...
Pros: Comfortable
Great recharging options Cons: Earpiece falls off
Device falls out of your ear in cold/dry weather
Got this for Christmas as it was highly reviewed by a magazine I read. I was very happy initially with the product, but within a month had reservations about it, which were confirmed when other issues developed. I do love the fact that it comes with ...
Pros: Sound quality, in-ear design, multiple charging options, good fit with holster Cons: None so far!
I have tried a number of different BT headsets in the quest for the "perfect" headset. I had a couple of Motorola units and then the Plantronics Discovery 640. Recently, while shuffling items between cars in a dark parking lot, the 640 came lose from ...
Pros: Comfortable. USB charger and Car charger are GREAT to have! Cons: Tinny poor incoming sound. My voice sounded 'far away' according to the callers!
Well, after my dog ate my Jabra BT250, I checked CNet, and decided to give this one a try. The reasons I bought it, were the good reviews, and the two charging options. The ability to charge it in my car was a HUGE bonus, as I use the headset in my ...
Pros: Good incoming and outgoing sound quality, easy to use functionality, Bluetooth pairing very easy. Cons: Pieces held on by friction will wear out causing all the pieces to come apart.
I purchased this headset when it first came out and used it extensively for more than 6-months, everyday couple of times a day taking phone calls in the office and outside on busy city streets. The headset performed very well, it was a bit quiet during ...
Pros: Good sound Cons: Very poor design, lousy service, poor battery life.
I used the 665 for about 10 months until recently. The USB charger was great, and the sound quality was very good. Price was high, but I needed something higher end to use as I am on the phone a fair bit. Biggest problem was the flimsy 5 cent ear ...
Pros: Reliable and long-lived, passed the 'frequent use' test Cons: Ear buds can fail, requiring replacement
I'm usually not one to sing the praises of anything (so much disappointment out there, and so many overhyped products), and I haven't written a review for a long time. I bought two of these based on reviews, after trying a fold out HP one and a Samsung ...
Plantronics 655 headset by waggoner_42 ,Jan 03 '07
Pros: Reception quality, size, fit, clarity, holster/charger, can charge with a blackberry charger. Cons: Can't take far from headset, 1-2 second delay
After trying the Motorola bluetooth headset, I decided that I needed something of better quality as I use my Blackberry as a phone for work. The Motorola did not fit well, had weak volume, and poor reception on the end of the listener.
The Plantronics 655 however is great. The volume is crystal clear and very loud. Clients and friends often say that they can not tell I'm using a headset. The earbuds fit so much better than the traditional earhook are really comfortable (I wear mine all day as I travel for a sales job). The pocket holster is invaluable for easy transition from ear to jacket/shirt.
Downsides, with my blackberry the reception is only clear when the headset is within say 2-3ft from the blackberry. After that it gets noisy. There is a 1-2second delay in the headset from when you answer til the call is connected to the headset.
Best blue tooth I've used! by rdobbins ,Nov 22 '06
Pros: Clarity to both you and the person you're calling; comfort; great volume level. Cons: Maybe getting it to stay in ear but you'll figure that out after a day.
I've tried several of the Motorola headsets which have worked okay expect when in a car, restaurant, or other place that has some background noise. The main reason I wanted a headset was to use while I was driving but couldn't use the Motorolas. After reading several reviews on the Plantronic Discovery 650 series, I final decided to try the 655. It works as promised! I love this headset! The people who I called to tested it with says it sounds great and due to the way it plugs in your ear, it has plenty of volume (both of which were problems with the Motorola). At first I did have a little difficulty in getting the thing to stay in my ear but after a day or so, figure it out. If you're having the same problems or need a headset in moderately noisy places, this is definitely the one!
Best in class Bluetooth headset by fsafadi ,Mar 07 '07
Pros: Great design, small and light, clear sound, long battery life. Best performance. Cons: Wall charger costs extra, flashy charging cradle.
This is my latest in a seemingly endless search for the perfect Bluetooth headset.
In a nutshell: Clear and loud sound, effective blocking of background sound, small and light, long battery life.
I am very impressed with this headset, after 6 weeks of daily use.
While bargain headsets abound, there is always a compromise with them, resulting in a lot of people assuming that bluetooth is not ready yet. When you upgrade to this premium headset you'll realize that you can finally have a reliable cordless headset.
I tried this Plantronics 655 with 2 cell phones: Cingular 2125 and Samsung D807 with the same reliable results.
The headset itself looks good and is very light. I found that the optional (included) ear hook was necessary for a secure fit, but I imagine that varies by ear shape.
The package includes 3 sizes of ear tips, an ear hook, a charging cradle, a USB cable, and car cigarette lighter charger.
Shop around, you can find prices about half its list price.
Pros: thin
light
sound quality
- call options managed by BT device
Cons: - less charging options than Discovery 655
I've acquired recently this device. I'm coming from a Jabra BT520 and this BT device is way better. To sync the device with my cellphone (Nokia N73) is easier. Sound quality is amazing. It's not a cheap BT it's an excellent device and the price seems to be fair enough for it's quality. Plantronics did a great job.
One great point for this BT is its sound quality managed by DSP, it's very thin and very small. It's very discrete when using the device. It fits perfectly for the modern executive. Clean, beautiful and easy to use.
I bought this at best buy for $99 and was excited to have a small one that fit in the ear. The fit was fine and it stays in great, it included three different size high-quality earpieces. However, the battery time was dismal, 45 minutes of talk time and it was dead. Also, the volume is too low and even at max volume, you need to be in a pretty quiet space to hear it (not your car). I am returning it. I have previously had a jabra and another plantronics, both of which were way better, though bulkier, than this one.
