Pros: "Smart" electronics for interaction, cute, no assembly required Cons: Lid will not stay on, no volume control
I read all the reviews on the Playskool Magic Talking Grill, and no one seemed to like this toy. Being the hard-head I am, I wanted to get it anyway it just seemed to cool of an idea to pass up. Yes, it does have it idiosyncrasies, but ...
Pros: Enhances child's creative mind through play (or some other crap like that). Cons: Dangerous child weapon secretly packaged into the box
The Bobby Q Talking Grill When my husband called me the week before Christmas to tell me he had found the cutest "talking grill" for our son. I was so excited to see it, couldn't wait to be able to give it to our son and watch him play with ...
Pros: The kids love it! Cons: Noisy, no off/volume switch, lid falls off
My twins have wanted a Talkin' Grill since they first saw the commercials months ago. It was all they could talk about. Since they love to play out pretend scenarios and especially love to cook, I had no doubt that this toy would be a great choice for...
Pros: Makes "realistic" grilling sounds. Cons: May be too terrifying for younger kids.
I convinced my parents to buy the Talking Grill for my 19-month-old for Christmas this year. I thought it was a cute toy, and I thought he'd love it. He's terrified of it. Irrationally, horribly, sobbing for hours terrified. We put it away in a closet ...
Pros: fork and spatula are easy-to-handle Cons: Loud, bossy, doesn't let child use imagination
My 3-yr old son has been wanting a grill forever! This one is a true disappointment. It chatters incessantly and doesn't let you do what YOU want without interruption. Either it shuts itself off if you don't touch it often enough, or it barks orders to...
Pros: It was not actually combustible Cons: It has absolutely no redeeming value for a kid
My daughter turned 3 last fall, meaning she's now frighteningly aware of the commercials that pitch products during the holidays. God help me. She saw an advertisement for this inane talking grill and insisted that she had to have it. Sap that I am, I...
My daughter received the Playskool Magical Talking for her second birthday from a relative. At first she was terrified of it. It makes "sizzling" sounds like a real grill but the sounds frightened her. After a few days she got used to it and started...
Most annoying toy ever made by dolphinthree ,Jan 31 '09
Pros: The toy is clever in concept and funny upon first impression. Cons: Repetitive, loud, annoying, poorly constructed and not user friendly
We purchased this toy thinking it would be super cute for our toddler twins since they love to watch daddy grill outside. It was a hit for about 2 days and then they lost interest. While it's a great idea, I think it was executed poorly as the toy does not have a volume control and the sayings are very annoying when heard over and over and very loud to boot. The grill top does not stay on well either. Did I mention it is loud and annoying? Save yourself some sanity and avoid this toy.
