This Playtex Cup is NOT for me or my son

by miller1611 , Jul 26 '07
Pros: Cute cup, keeps drinks cool, doesn't leak when lid is closed
Cons: Leaks when cup is tilted, expensive
As good as the Playtex Insulator Spill-Proof Cup has been for my son, the Playtex Insulator Sport Straw Cup has not been so good. We only own one of the Sport Straw Cups and that is all we will own. He can drink out of a cup pretty good and out of ...

Too Old For A Sippy Cup, Too Ill-Mannered For The Good China.

by joyfulgirl91 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Aug 15 '06
Pros: flip-top lid and insulated cup makes this a nice travel solution
Cons: drips, no easy way to store or wash the two-part straw
Her Royal Highness is due for some lessons about gravity. Specifically, I want her to learn what causes spills and how to avoid them. To make this possible, my perfectly leak-free sippy cups are no longer the best beverage carrier for my ...

I Have Seen the Light-Through the Straw of the Playtex Insulator Sport Straw Cup

by mmcphee Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Apr 28 '07
Pros: No valve, fits cup holders, kid and parent friendly
Cons: Outrageously priced
What would possess an otherwise (arguably) sane mother to spend $6.50 on a cup for kids? I drink out of wine glasses that don’t cost that much. Of course I have never been as desperate to find the right wine glass as I am for some new travel cups for my ...

Works great!

by oakleysmommy , Apr 03 '05
Pros: Big kid feel, insulated, hold 9 ounces
Cons: Price, drips slightly out of air hole
I purchased our first Playtex Insulator Sport about three months ago. I have since purchased two more since they work so well and my son loves them so much. The Straw Odyssey Our straw drinking journey began a few months ago. My son, who ...

Okay Straw Cup

by noahandme , Jul 08 '08
Pros: Great straw training tool, nice colors and designs, no spill-proof valve!
Cons: Leaks and flips liquid out of straw.
The Playtex Insulator Sport Straw Cup is an average cup in my opinion. We have one of these cups for my son and I have no plans of getting anymore of these. The Playtex Insulator Sport Straw cup holds 9oz of liquid and is designed the same as the ...

A cup for little "Big Kids"!

by Jacqlin82 , Jan 24 '06
Pros: easy to use, even for a two year old, inexpensive, colorful, bright
Cons: it does leak!
My son, now 2, tossed the bottle and took to a sippy cup before he was even a year old. Just a few weeks ago he started preschool for the first time. I toted a sippy cup in and to my amazement the teacher said, "We don't really use sippy cups here. We ...

Be careful when your toddler is using a straw cup
by mmacri25 ,May 06 '05
Pros: easy to clean, inexpensive, cute design, keeps drink colder longer
Cons: Cap falls off & small enough to choke. Straw can be bitten in 1/2.
Overall as good as any other straw cup, but better priced. This cup and replacements are easy to find in most stores.

-The little cap that slides over the straw falls off about 10 times a day and is small enough to be a possible choking hazard. With that being said though, my son does spike it like a football so I can see why it falls off.

-Other con is that today my 15 month old son who drink from this cup bite the straw in 1/2 swallowing the other 1/2. Straw is flimsy (Munchkins version of the cup is a bit thicker on the straw)

-Because of the straw it does leak

Like them -- but need a bunch of 'top' straw replacements
by versican ,Mar 15 '06
Pros: Easy to clean. Easy to use.
Cons: The straw part they drink from gets chewed and rips.
I've been using these cups since my kids were between 10-12 months old. Now, they are 3 yrs & 20 mos old. I like these cups. And the kids do too. What I do not like is the top part of the straw (the part they sip out of) gets chewed on and rips. So, I trim off the chewed part. The cycle continues -- they chew and I cut -- until there's none left for them to drink from and the top straw part is useless. I have not found replacement parts, but will look for them as these cups are great otherwise.

It maybe Spill-proof but definitely not leak-proof...
by natalie_r ,Dec 08 '05
Pros: Easy for a toddler hold/grab, easy to clean, keeps the water cold
Cons: It leaks
I bought this cup for my 14mth old who has been drinking from straw cups (Mag Mag and Tomee Tippee) since she was 7mth old. I was VERY disappointed in it as it only needs to be lying on it's side and water just drips out of the 'breather' hole - I timed it one day, the entire cup was empty in 30 min. Also, tip it upside down and the water pours out of the breather hole.
