Polaroid FLM-2011 20 in. EDTV-Ready TV

Pros: Price-Value, customizable, good image, good sound, nice and simple design.
Cons: Don't know brand and don't like the warranty. Worth paying an extended retail warranty.

Crisp image (not great but fairly good), lots of customizing options for sound, image, and color.
The issue of having to use its own remote (no universal code) was solved with the "learn" function of our universal remote (Phillips). It took sometime (about 10 minutes) but it pays off because the original remote does not have a good grip and buttons are hard to press.
We've had it for a couple of weeks and so far so good.

Pros: Nice picture for price.
Cons: Must use Polaroid's remote to operate TV.

Only have time for a quick review so...
Bought the TV for $399 at Circuit City to put in our breakfast room. Picture is good, sound quality is fair but what really irritates me is the remote. We have DirectTV, Polaroid is not listed in the DirectTV universal remote (5 digit code). I called DirectTV, they had me try a few things that didn't work so I emailed Polaroid's tech support asking for their code. Polaroid responded promptly that there is no code for use with a universal remote, you must use Polaroid's remote! What a pain, I now have to use 2 remotes to operate the TV, if I had known that I would have spent a little more and purchased another TV brand. No more Polaroid TV's for us

Cons: cheap product and customer service is horrible

We bought this tv less than a year ago because it looked good and was very affordable... we might as well have just thrown our money in the garbage! This tv worked intermittently over the last few months and now that it has completely stopped working, we can not get any help from Polaroid's customer service even though it's still under the 1-year warranty. Spend a bit more and buy a reliable tv. Don't waste your money on a Polaroid product. We will never buy from this company again & are telling everyone we know to avoid them, too.
