Pros: The scenery is breathtaking and you leave the driving to them. Cons: Not recommended for those who can't travel for long periods of time.
Have you ever been the driver on a scenic road, such as Mauis Road to Hana, and wanted to see what your passengers were making such a commotion over, but couldnt because the road (and, thus, your attention) was headed in a different direction? ...
Pros: Knowledgeable tour guide, highlights of the park, some unexpected yet pleasurable detours. Cons: Not enough time to explore the park on foot, unable to see any active lava.
This review refers to the Polynesian Adventure Tours 9-hour trip through Volcanoes National Park, on the big island of Hawaii. My girlfriend and I were staying on Oahu and decided to take a 2-day trip to the Big Island, specifically to see Volcanoes ...
Pros: Good if you are short in time, or don't want to drive. Cons: Not enough time to properly see all the highlights
We started our tour , with the hotel pickup ( Keahou) at 7.30Am. First stop was a Kona coffee shop. You can taste different coffees' here. The next stop was the Black Sand beach on the way to the volcano. Lunch at the Volcano house, with a great view of ...
Pros: Beautiful Views

tour guide was awful
My daughter and I just returned from a cruise through Hawaii last Monday. We took one of those guided tours of the Volcanoes from Hilo. Overall, I would give it a good rating for value and comfort. Unfortunately. our guide was positively nauseating. His ...
Pros: None Cons: The advertised highlights of the tour are not actually part of the tour.
The Polynesian Adventures "Volcano Adventure Tour" was a major disappointment. In fact, it would not be inappropriate to label it a scam. I booked this tour based on the description given on the company's website, only to find that the advertised ...
Pros: Guides knowledge of island history Cons: Everything else
My husband and I and the couple we were with were the last to be picked up for this bus tour. Therefore we got to sit in the last row, instead of a window to look out of, we had a bathroom to look at. While the tour guide was knowledgeable about the island and history, he was also quite opinionated about politics and us 'white tourists'. We were absolutely appalled at some of his remarks, especially with children on the tour. Aside from that, about 25% of the tour was interesting. The rest was nothing but stops at gift shops. You had twenty minutes to get off and buy something. The guide kept commenting on how much money all us tourists had and that we could shop at all the stops. I would not recommend this tour for anyone. It isn't anything you couldn't have done on your own.
