  • Great Hosting Company

    Mar 06 '06
Pros: Cheap, full control, quick set up
    Cons: None I've encountered

Summary: For the last 15 years I have been reserving domain names and opening domain hosting plans with a variety of different registrars and domain hosting companies, with varying levels of satisfaction. However, over the last year I've either migrated or ... read more

  • Powweb is a Horrid Webhost

    Jan 05 '08
Pros: There are no pros. This is a horrible company.
Cons: Your website will be unbearably slow if it loads at all.

Summary: I can't even begin to describe how horrible they are in every aspect. If you use MySQL. Your website WILL NOT WORK!!! Google "Powweb MySQL". The problem with MySQL is all over the web and they won't fix it. This company, Endurance, which took ... read more

Pros: overall hosting is ok, offers some interesting prepackaged software, relatively inexpensive, little downtime
Cons: support is unqualified and rude, detrimental server changes made, pages load slowly at times

Summary: Overall the service isnt bad until you tend to utilize php coding, databases etc.... If you do create anything other than basic webpages I would steer clear of powweb. Here are my troublesome experiences. (1) Powweb made major updates to their ... read more

    Pros: None
    Cons: Customer service
    Billing practices

  • Ghastly.

    Pros: Cheap(ish). Bog-standard services.
Cons: Poor customer service. Bait and switch pricing. More than advertised downtime.

Summary: I've been with Powweb for four years, but will be leaving. Besides a flaky uptime and absolutely god-awful customer service - I can summarize the attitude of their customer service team as "Why is this our problem?" - the biggest issue is the

  • Powweb & MySQL

    Jan 04 '09
    Pros: Cost, setup, easy maintenance
Cons: MySql servers are on a different "domain" so you cannot remotely connect to them.

Summary: Powweb certainly used to have some issues with MySQL.  But, they recently seem to have fixed this.  I know that my site is now MUCH faster, and editing MySQL databases with phpMyAdmin is also a lot fast than it used to

  • Endurance buyout ruins Powweb

    Sep 02 '06
    Pros: Unlimited pointer domains
Cons: Bad customer service. Email and FTP limits

Summary: I have been with Powweb for 3 years. Unfortunately, they have been bought by a holding company called Endurance that is in the business of buying up hosting services and conglomerating them into one network. During the migration of Powweb accounts to the

  • The Worst

    Aug 30 '06
    Pros: none
Cons: slow HTTP, slow FTP, clueless customer service

Summary: With the Endurance Inc take-over of Powweb, the customers have lost what was once a conscientious and user-based service. The 'new' Powweb is absolutely the worst hosting company I've seen yet. Slow page loads, slow and often timing-out FTP connection,

  • Major Dissapointment

  • Very Dissapointed

    Jul 26 '06
    Pros: cheap
Cons: SLOW, FLAKY, CONSTANTLY CHANGING THINGS

Summary: I saw a good review for powweb and decided to give it a try. Transfered my entire site over, which was very complex and a timely process. I rely on the sql databases and have close to a GB of content. After all the work, the performance has been
