Well worth the price!

by mgorbsk , Feb 10 '05
Pros: Sturdy, easy assembly, best out there for the buck!
Cons: Had to wait over a month to arrive, minor fit and finish
I have been a Stay-at-Home-Dad now for three years and have put on 42 lbs. This is the year I have dedicated to getting back in shape. I considered everything from Bowflex to Crossbow, to Universal, to Body Solid. I only wanted to spend about $1000. ...

Finally, a safe and effective workout

by consumer_mike , Sep 21 '05
Pros: Very versatile. High quality construction. Small foot print. Good price.
Cons: The feel of the rear leverage arm takes getting used to.
I bought the Powertec Leverage gym after using a standard weight bench and weight rack for the past few years. Since I work 12 hours shifts at a power plant and I have no time to go to the gym I have to do my workouts at home. And I have recently started ...

One of the few serious home options re: function & value

by pumpster , May 15 '05
Pros: Value for the money, durable, excellent gym-quality feel, no spotter required.
Cons: Not easily moved (no wheels). Replacement cables not easily obtained-stock up with extras. Machining: so-so.
I've worked out for more years than i want to admit. Always wanted to be able to work out at home, which wasn't easily possible until relatively recently. Remember the Soloflex? Perhaps the precursor to most of the equipment we can now choose from, but ...

Good value for the money

by pbennett13 , Feb 19 '04
Pros: Quality Construction, flexible features, price
Cons: bulky, not completely flexible.
I've worked out at my gym for 4 years consistently. The cost of membership, and limited hours thought was forcing me to consider a home gym long term. Sometimes, I don't get home 'til 11:00pm, and my gym is closed then. I've looked at the ...

A Gym Built for a Lifetime!!

by fitzfun , Oct 17 '02
Pros: Commercial quality home unit for a very reasonable price
Cons: Needs 2 people or about 3+ hrs (alone) to assemble. But worth the time!
I grew up lifting free weights at the local YMCA and enjoyed the motivation and "spotting" assistance of the other guys in the gym. As, I grew older though, I had less time to spend working out and decided to equip my home with workout equipment so that...

5 Stars and More

by charliep77 , Oct 10 '03
Pros: Solid construction, very versatile, works as advertised.
Cons: Price tag.
After much comparison-shopping, I finally bought the Powertec Workbench Leverage home gym. It deserves every bit of its 5 star rating and then some. The other reviews have really done a good job pointing out features so I won’t duplicate their efforts. ...

Pros: Solid construction, plate loaded
Cons: low pulley connection and range of motion

by swgeorge , Mar 18 '04
Pros: smooth and quiet, built to last, great range of motion
Cons: assembly, a tad bulky
After reading up for months on home gyms, I decided to get the Leverage System by Powertec. Words can't describe how happy I am with the decision I made. At first I was contemplating the weider Crossbow Platinum. It looked like it would give you a ...

Quality equipment for your home

by raf23 , Sep 17 '04
Pros: Quality construction. "Gym" feel of exercises. Other than dumbells, only piece of equipment I need.
Cons: Bench feels too tall for someone my size (5'8")
The last few months have been hard for me to get to the gym so I've started searching for home equipment as an alternative. The Bowflex interested me because of the advertised versatility and limited space requirements. After trying it for myself I ...

Solid System

by shovel77us , Sep 15 '05
Pros: High quality, easy to use, well designed.
Cons: Not quite so good assembly instructions, one cheesy part.
I am 67, overweight (225), big belly, no muscle tone and not in any kind of condition. I ordered my Powertec Leverage System from Fitness Factory Outlet and received it on August 26, 2005. My wife and I assembled the unit that evening and ran into some ...

As good as it gets for a single machine

by bombdogguy , Jan 22 '05
Pros: It offers all the exercises I could want and many more.
Cons: It can take a little time to switch from one set up to another.
I have used the Powertec WB-LS for about 18 months. I am 58 years old and use it 3 days a week. It is a fantastic exercise machine. I prefer a machine that allows me to add free weights, at the increments of importance to me. Not plates. I can make ...
