Nokia 5165

by sunswim , Jul 02 '02
Pros: Attractive, good size, good battery, very durable.
Cons: Complicated to understand at times because of small size.
There are many positives and many negatives to this phone. But like everything, once you get the hang of it, it isn't so bad. This phone is sometimes hard to use because there is only so much that you can do with the few buttons that are on it. This...

Why Nokia 5165 is one of the most popular phones around.

by angelbaby2003 , Apr 26 '01
Pros: Affordable, lots of accessories, basic for first time buyers.
Cons: A little heavier than other phones, also, accessories can be expensive at times.
I find the Nokia 5165 a very great phone for first time cell phone buyers. It is very affordable, especially for teens who want a phone, but can't afford a deluxe phone that could cost up to $150.
I have one of these phones, and I absolutely love...

by endurance , May 15 '02
Pros: Sturdy, Good Battery Life, Faceplates.
Cons: Sound quality is bad, Lack of more robust addressbook.
I recently became a AT&T user, and wrote a review on a awesome phone, my Erricson, however when my Erricson phone decided it would be fun to leap from my shirt pocket to a hard floor and shatter the folks at my AT&T Wireless shop were nice enough to...

Make all the calls you want with the Nokia 5165

by poseidon Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, May 21 '01
Pros: Excellent phone with tons of features.
Cons: The 5100 series faceplates don't fit the 5165 without buying new keypads.
My Nokia 5160 died recently. All the electronics worked fine, but it was losing its ability to tie into the closest cellular tower. Messages would get dropped, or gargled, or static-filled. I thought the problem was AT&T Wireless Services, my cellular...

Except for My Fat Fingers.....Nokia 5165

by JBduckling Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, May 19 '01
Pros: Long Lasting Battery, Fun to use!
Cons: Keyboard a bit small, seems complicated at first use.
The Nokia Model 5165 is a pleasure to use. When it was time to trade-in my old Motorola flip-phone, a co-worker recommended this Nokia model. I've been more than pleased. First, the battery is long lasting. With the use of LED displays and a ...

I've Bought Two

by kristalrose , May 07 '02
Pros: Lots of features, sounds like a regular phone, adorable, compact, and fun
Cons: Sometimes the bells and whistles are too complicated.
I got my first Nokia 5165 for Christmas. My hubby, John, was tickled to death with his find, and with the simplicity of purchasing accessories for it. He had walked into our local Big Lots (and if you don’t have a Big Lots Store in your area, I pity...

A fashion statement & communication device all in one!

by kbc02 , Sep 04 '02
Pros: Wide range of accessories, text messaging, and custom ringtones.
Cons: Much larger than newer versions on the market.
I have been able to find affordable ($8 or less) face plates at stores like Wal-Mart and Target, and even at our local flea market! There are also variations of buttons and antennas to add a personal touch to your phone.

Besides these...

Good phone for the money, and the hard of hearing !!!

by jeffercine , Apr 24 '02
Pros: Reliable, Great volume control, comfortable in the hand, durable, many faceplates produced, battery strength lasts.
Cons: Battery tends to loosen over time and loose contact.
One of the first things I noticed about this phone was the volume control. I am half deaf in the ear that I tend to use for the phone, so it was nice to be able to turn it up enough to hear OK. It is also quite comfortable next to my ear, unlike some...

by dazey , Dec 09 '00
Pros: SMS, Easy to use
Cons: Noone really knows anything about it.
Recently I went to my local AT&T Wireless store to look at the 5160, with interest to purchase one for my mom, to get her away from her old ericsson. Since I've had a 5160 for quite some time now, I decided it was a good phone. Since they are no...

Handy little gadget!

by melmouse , Dec 04 '00
Pros: handy, practical, the games are neat.
Cons: not for people with bigger fingers
My boyfriend and I decided that it would be a good investment for us to go wireless. The problem was, we were having trouble finding a provider to suit his needs (he is a trucker). Once we overcame that hurdle, we found out that we were getting free...

I am a senior in high school, and will soon be a college student. I already use my Nokia 5165 quite a bit, and I imagine I'll be using it more when I get into college. My older brother, who is in college, has the same model phone, and he enjoys it very...
