Pros: Simpler and possibly more durable design than other "pro" wafflers. Cons: No darkness control (may be important to some users)
We bought the Presto FlipSide to replace a faux pro waffler made by the blender company who shares its name with Fred W's Glee Club (see my review titled "The Belgian Waffle Finally Comes Home (but only stayed for three years)"). That one cost twice the ...

Pros: Low Cost. Easy to use. Cons: Cheap plastic clamp may break preventing the unit from upright storage. Power cord too short.
I decided to try the Presto 03510 Waffle Maker when the Waring Professional Waffle Maker broke after two years. This unit weighs in at 5 Points 12 ounces. It has a much smaller footprint than the Waring Professional, and stores in a ...

Pros: Fair price for a flipper
Pretty well made, no hinge slop
Timer/beeper Cons: Non-removable plates
For the past two weeks, the thought of buying a waffle iron has been stuck in my craw. So, I began the usual round of searching and researching, and chose the Presto Flip-side based on all the good reviews. WallyWorld's website was where I first found ...

Another "Non-stick" that sticks
by talkmore ,Feb 10 '08
Pros: Looks great Cons: Waffles stick
Looks great. But, unless you spray the grids with oil, the waffles stick. We purchased the unit, followed the instructions to season the "non-stick" grids, and the waffles immediately stuck. If you spray the grids, you lose the darker, crisper exterior.
We have found that all of the current crop of waffle irons made in China have the same cheap, "non-stick" grids that don't work. The only hope for waffle irons is that T-Fal (French made) will finally make a traditional waffle iron. Their non-stick technology is the real thing.
Don't buy the Presto waffle iron.

Better at half the price
by pharmaexec ,Mar 09 '08
Pros: Low cost. Excellent thick, crisp waffles. Easy to store Cons: Does not look like a professional waffle maker. No on-off switch.
I returned my Waring "Professional" maker due to electrical short and bought the Presto. This is half the price. It makes excellent thick Belgium waffles. It appears that the extra price for the Waring is just to add the stand to make it look professional. Instead of needing a dedicated stand which takes up space, Presto merely makes use of your countertop to flip the waffles. The bottom line is you get the same flipping action which makes the waffles evenly cooked and toasted on the outside without. Brushed on Wesson oil for the first time and waffles never stick. Do not use Pam spray as this will build up over time and actually makes sticking worse (reason why I had to throw away old waffle maker and pancake griddle). Will only use oil from now on every once in a while. If you have much counter space to waste and want to impress people thinking you have a professional waffle maker get the Waring. But if you are a practical person and do not care what the thing looks like and just want excellent waffles, save yourself some money and space and get the Presto machine/
