  • ~~THE SEARS PRO FORM TREADMILL~~MORE THAN JUST AN EXPENSIVE CLOTHESLINE!

    Nov 1, 2001 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Adjustable speed and incline levels; many different programs to reduce boredom.
Cons: Motor is rather loud at higher speeds; may not be the best choice for runners.

Summary: A few years ago before I became pregnant with my 16 month old son, I was an avid fitness walker and was in the best shape of my life. Every morning after taking my older children to school, I’d hit the pavement with my walking shoes on and my ... read more

  • Proform 730 treadmill

    Nov 3, 2006 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Features/comfort good while it lasted. Probably good for walkers.
Cons: Design quality unsuitable for runners. If you're over 150lbs avoid this and similarly constructed units.

Summary: I was attracted to this unit by the large belt size, the "bounce" of the tread (running outside every day was starting to beat up my knees) and the price. I used the built-in programs pretty regularly - 6 to choose from. I'd also use the ... read more

  • Good treadmill for the price

    Jul 25, 2001 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
    Pros: Inexpensive, easy to use
Cons: Not as sturdy as I'd like

Summary: I got my ProForm 725 (~$600) a month ago. So far I think I've gotten my money's worth. The motor easily supports my needs (4.5 mph/5% incline). The speed/incline are easily controlled and display is very easy to read. The preset programs ... read more

  • Paying for gym quality for under $1000

    Jun 3, 2001 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Excellent electronics
Cons: Tends to wobble a little. Noisy motor

Summary: People crowd into the gyms for the mirrors in my opinion. I decided to assemble my own gym in my garage (without the mirrors). The Proform 725 EX treadmill has been a great addition to my personal sweat room. Yeah it's true that the treadmill ... read more

  • Alright for a beginner, but get extended warranty!

    Apr 21, 2001 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Instant speed select. Long Belt. iFit.
Cons: Unstable frame. Cheap materials. "peak horse power" motor. Not programmable.

Summary: The Proform 725ex treadmill illustrates why the low end treadmill market offers so little value. If you have read any of my other treadmill reviews, then you already know that one company (ICON Fitness) makes most of the low end treadmills (Proform, ... read more

    Mar 3, 2001 by

Pros: Price, Cushioned Platform for lower impact. Comfort.
Cons: Low(er) end of the market may not last forever.

Summary: Ten days ago we purchased the PRO-FORM 740CS treadmill from Sears. The end of November I had reconstructive surgery on both of my hips. Following eight weeks of physical therapy at home my surgeon gave me instructions to ... read more

  • An Excellent Choice

Pros: Very sturdy, attractive treadmill with many features.
Cons: Not light to move around, but it does fold up neatly into compact position.

Summary: If you are looking for a very solid and stylish treadmill with some nifty features, this could be a great choice for you. The easy-to-use console includes an LED Track (to show how many laps you've gone), calories and fat burned, pulse rate, ... read more

    Oct 23, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Great unit, easy storage, durable, sturdy construction, multiple speeds, inclines
    Cons: None Come to Mind

Summary: PLEASE NOTE: This review is of the Pro-Line 390 PI. Since there is no listing for this treadmill, I am placing it here, under another Pro-Line treadmill. Exercise is one of those things in life we all know we need to do, but don’t ... read more

    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: ease of use, power incline, many displays
    Cons: awkward pulse sensor grips

Summary: After watching MTV Spring Break in April of 1999, I was depressed. All those coeds running around in bikinis made me realize how much I needed to get back in shape. I was only 25, after all. I had really slipped. Because I didn't want to rely on the ... read more

Pros: folds up and moves easily
Cons: I hate the safety clip

Summary: My fiance and I decided to purchase this treadmill to get in shape for our upcoming wedding. I am definitely NOT a gym person (I just feel way too self-conscious) and he doesn't have time to go the gym (since he's going to school full-time and working ... read more

Pros: durable, you decide the intensity
Cons: heavy and a bit noisy

Summary: I love this treadmill, it has held up so well and lasted through some pretty intense workouts. I especially like the option of an incline which can really help burst your calorie burning. I have used this treadmill through all stages. When I ... read more

    Jun 4, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Minimal cost, fun, durable
    Cons: Little bulky and heavy

Summary: I haven't read much about this particular model. I think it must be an upgrade on the ProForm 725. I purchased it at Sears for $600 on sale. The regular price is around $800. I have only owned it for two weeks, but so far, I think it is terrific. ... read more

Pros: wide belt, incline, good price
Cons: a bit noisy, hard to move around

Summary: I purchased this treadmill after deciding to stop going to the gym. I found myself just going to they gym to only do the treamill, so it made sense for me to invest some money and buy one, after all $800 is a lot cheaper than belonging to a gym. I have ... read more

Summary: I bought the ProForm 730CS treadmill (at Sears) right after New Year's as a tool to complete my Millenium resolution to get back in shape. I played sports year round as a kid through high school and college. Although I was always at the top of my ... read more

  • Close but no cigar

    Jan 23, 2000 by

Pros: Great display, neat heart monitor
Cons: Less steady than higher quality machines

Summary: When looking at treadmills, you really do get what you pay for. Though I really like the display and controls of this treadmill, that's about all it has going for it. The running deck is not nearly as sturdy as on the more pricey models. The ... read more

Summary: I purchased this treadmill when I first started working out seriously. At the time I was a walker, and I loved the machine. It shows calories burned, fat calories burned, distance, speed. It has a 2.5 HP motor, and I like the power, it doesn't ... read more
