Pros: price, impact pedals, programs Cons: short stride, moves around while exerising
Trying to find elliptical trainers that are well built and have the right amount of features under $500 is no easy task. The Proform 900 Cardiocrosstrainer Elliptical comes very close. If you are familiar with the Proform line you will recognize the ...
Pros: Good price, good mix of features, ReflexStep bounce, programs, smooth and quiet, compact size Cons: Slightly short stride length (admittedly an issue of subjective feel)
I bought this on sale for $290 at a local store. Overall, if I had paid $400-499 for this elliptical, I would still said that it was good. But at $290, or the $300 range that some of the previous posters bought it for, I think it is a very nice balance ...
Pros: Price, low noise Cons: pace function isn't always great
I purchased this piece of equipment because I was getting tired of walking on my treadmill and needed some variety. Also because my rear needed a more targeted workout.
I purchased the product directly from the Proform website at just under...
Pros: Cheap; got mine for about $330 at a wholesale club. Cons: See above...
I'm now trying to get rid of mine for a quarter of what I paid for it. I wish I had spent just a couple hundred dollars more for a Nordic Track, which has inline skate wheels on the pedals instead of this useless piece of junk. The person who wrote th ...
Pros: Easy to use, with low noise & great price Cons: Machine waddles from side to side, during intense workout
I made the decision to purchase an elliptical machine because I have been running throughout the summer but finding little time to do anything else. I felt that I needed something that would decrease the full impact to my joints, and with more and more...
Pros: Excellent machine, especially for the price! Just as good as the gym ellipticals. Cons: The screen could be brighter.
This machine is wonderful! I've worked out on a few different kinds of ellipticals at different gyms for years now. This elliptical definitely matches their intense workout and smoothness. I've had it for almost a month now.
Pros: Inexpensive, fairly quiet, not too large Cons: Inaccurate, nondurable
I bought this model because it was inexpensive ($399) compared to a lot of the others and the reviews weren't all that bad when I was looking into it. I should have listened more to hcluff below but I was under the 200 lbs as he suggested. The axle ...
Pros: Good aerobic exercise design Cons: High rate of manufacturing defects and questionable or difficult warrantee backup
This is a good exercise machine if you get one without defects and if you know how to put it together. Things to consider are: You should be in fairly good shape to use an elliptical exerciser. For older or less healthy people you might want to start ...
I have been using the ProForm 900 CardioCrossTrainer for about four months, three to four times per week for 20-30 minutes each. I've enjoyed the workout, which has been much better than the workout I got from my recumbent bike. It is moderately...
Squeakin' Creakin' this product is a stinkin'.... I know this product is not health club quality. But it should not be making the noise that it does. The unit squeaks at the arm connectors and at the base. It has done this from the get-go. The arm ...
Pros: Reasonable price, worked well in store Cons: Squeaky, missing screws, HORRIBLE customer service
I bought this anticipating that it would work as well as the display in the store. It took about 2 hours to put together and was missing 3 screws. I called their customer service the next day and after waiting on hold for 4 or 5 minutes, was sent ...
Pros: iFIT, price Cons: Breaks Easily, Customer Service at ICON is horrible, won't replace broken parts.
Stay away from Proform Ellipticals. We've had ours for a while now and it's been nothing but trouble from day one. First, the main console stopped working and we replaced that under warranty. Then, the motor stopped and ICON wouldn't replace it so we had to purchase a replacement motor. A month or so later, the right crank arm broke and we had to purchase that. Two months later, the left crank arm broke, which cost us more $$$. Take my advice, spend the extra on a better elliptical because you'll end up spending more in the long run anyway.
Proforma cardio crosstrainer 900....NOT VERY DURABLE by eswarsundar ,May 05 '06
Pros: compact, can be used without electricity Cons: poor engineering, cheap parts, not durable at all
Bought this machine 2 years ago and paid $469. It needs batteries and when that runs down there is just not enough resistance on the fly wheel although the display continues to give you excellent workout numbers making you feel good!!!.
Initially required a two person 3 hour sweat drenched workout to assemble it!
Worked fine for about 6 months then became progressively squeaky, wobbly, graphite powder from the lubrication started staining the carpet.
Finally 6 months ago the machine breathed its last, no resistance on the flywheel at all.
I am now looking for a replacement. Now looking to spend between $100o to $1500 on a Schwinn or a Smooth CE
Pros: Small, light, easy to move around, good readouts, quiet. Cons: Shorter stride may not work for taller people.
This is the third elliptical trainer I have had and I love it. My first was the old style that did not have the Reflex step and it was very noisy. I replaced it with a 700 series CardioCross. That machine was a nightmare. I liked the action and workout but could not get rid of all the annoying noises. Finally I just junked it. I was bit reluctant to try another Pro-Form but Fleet Farm had a sale on the 900 so I bought one. It is a great trainer because it is quiet and smaller so it is easier to move around. For me this one is a winner. I am writing this after using it for several months so if a serious problem is going to show up I would expect to see it by now.
Very happy with my purchase by annmarie2a ,Sep 29 '03
Pros: Quite, comfortable and easy to use Cons: A little heavy if you have to move it up and downs stairs
I just purchased the glider and I love it. Easy to put together, quite and very comfortable to use. For the price Its a great bargain and a even greater workout.
