Pros: Reliable; good food and seats in business; cheap domestic flights. Cons: Some old aircraft; unhelpful staff at Moscow; 15kg baggage allowance.

Pulkovo 2004

Pros: Cheap, efficient, friendly and efficient crew, on time. Cons: Rather noisy, folding seatbacks do not feel solid.
We flew Pulkovo from Moscow to St. Petersburg in July 2004. The aircraft was a Tu-154 and seemed relatively new. The flight was pleasant and on time. The crew was efficient and courteous. One thing of interest is the sound the engines make. The Aviadvigatel (Soloviev) D-30KU-154-II turbofans are not modified to the noise standards of U.S. jets and the sound is quite loud when they spool up for take off. I enjoyed it.
