PullTap CorkScrew

by dczeisz , Feb 03 '08
Pros: Fast, efficient, versatile, and well priced
Cons: People I work with want to borrow it (hince I carry two now)
I have bartended for the past few years and this is my most trusted tool. Once, someone broke into my truck and stole all my bar tools, but I found a local liquor store that gave me a new PullTap for free. I find new uses for it all the time (use the ...

Pulltap Corkscrew
by curlyjm ,Jan 13 '04
Pros: Simple, Compact, Easy to use, Inexpensive
Cons: A bit pricey for non-standard models.
I recently purchased a Pulltap corkscrew on eBay. To date, it is the best corkscrew in my collection. It is extremely easy to use, reliable and compact. It is so good that I purchased another on eBay. I'm also searching for sites for direct purchase.

Simply the best waiter/bartender corkscrew
by friedricebob ,Apr 21 '04
Pros: Teflon coated worm Compact, elegant, sturdy Few broken corks
Cons: May be hard to find Teflon does wear off after VERY extended use
I've spent anywhere from $4 up to $35 on waiter's corkscrews for waiting/bartending in a fine dining atmosphere. This is quite simply the best one I've used yet.

First off, the worm is teflon coated, and thinner than some other corkscrews. It simply goes into a bottle of wine more easily.

Secondly, the two-tier extraction design results in far fewer corks being broken. You have to TRY to get this thing to bust a cork.

Third, the regular model can be had for $7-$10 if you can find it locally. When you lose as many as I do, that counts for something.

Finally, this thing is built like a rock. The majority of the Pulltap's corkscrew is metal (steel I suppose). I've had plastic corkscrews break, but there's no way this one would.

If you only open 1 bottle of wine per week, you probably won't notice the difference. But when you're on your 100th bottle of the evening, and you haven't broken a cork, then it's worth it. I've worn the teflon off of the worm on 2 of these (before I lost them). But that took months.

Best corkscrew we've ever used!
by wisctraveler ,Jul 14 '05
Pros: Sturdy, teflon on the screw makes it easy to use on all kinds of corks
Cons: Would have like to buy locally but "The Wine Cellars" were very efficient.
After experimenting with various types of corkscrews that were either bulky, broke the cork and/or the bottle lip, broke after several uses, or were just very difficult to use, I finally looked on Epinions and found the Pulltap corkscrews. I initially ordered 2 which amused my husband, but they have proven to be so good, I just got off The Wine Cellars website where I ordered additional ones for the picnic basket, gifts, etc. I very much recommend this corkscrew!
