Pros: Compact size, Affordable, Good Sound, Expandable Memory Cons: Tricky on/off, awkward headphones, sub-par MusicMatch software included
2006 UPDATE: Pass this one on to your 8 year old and get yourself an iPod! It was a nice intro mP3 but sucked batteries like mad. OLD REVIEW: Since I was planning on joining a gym, I knew I would need portable tunes to keep me interested while ...
I love music, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in my opinion. Good music can change a bad day into a good one, and make a boring workout routine fly by. With my MP3 player at my side, the right song is always on!
Pros: Easy to operate, skip free-play back, memory expandable to 192mb. Cons: No back light for display, memory expansion is very costly.
I bought this MP3 player to replace my old SONY portable radio which I used during my work-out session. The new device had to be small enough and needed to be attached to my arm. So, this small MP3 player with a wristband was my best bet. It was very...
Pros: Size! Good audio quality. Ease of use. Reliability. Durability. Cost. Cons: Battery usage. Limited memory. Cheap looking protective case. Multimedia cards only no SD!
I have had my Kazoo for over 2 years now and will say that for the money it cost me at the time it has been a great little performer. It's size has been the biggest advantage because it will easily tuck into a pocket or shirt so it does not bounce ...
Pros: Small, Lightweight and upgradeable Cons: Cheesy wrist strap and plastic holder and the included software
My wife has been wanting one of these things for quite a while now so she can go to the gym and have some music, just not something so big it beats her up on the treadmill...
This unit is actually pretty good for it's sound clarity and...
Pros: Compact size, sound quality, good headphones, good software. Cons: No backlight.
Words a man never wants to hear unless, of course, he is equipped with the RCA Kazoo! This little MP3 player is simply awesome! The size alone is enough to make you need it. The 64 megs that come standard with the unit will give you about 17 song ...
I think this player is well worth the money. I did a lot of research on MP3 players before I purchased this one. I purchased mine just one week ago at Circuit City for $64 and I love it. Out of the box I was up and running in...
I've had this player for 3 months now. Overall I am pleased with the product. I use it primarily as a distraction from my out of shape body while slogging through a half hour on the tread mill three times a week.
Pros: Light weight, small, great for working out! Cons: Price of memory cards and head phones.
I bought the Kazoo player a few month ago on Amazon.com and I LOVE IT!! Not only is the price right for the MP3 player, it is so easy to use. The software that comes with it is easy to use and putting music on it is also very easy. Its great for working...
Pros: This system is incredibly useful, decent download times and great quality. Cons: Not enough memory for a good amount of songs, although it is expandable.
I bought this product for $100 in July of '02. This product suited my needs. The only problem was memory, 2 hours wasn't possible. The MP3's I have are over 2mb you can't fit that many songs on it then.
I like the controls in the software where you...
Pros: Good sound and great battery life Cons: Not many options to play with and no backlight
This player delivers good sound quality and great battery life for the money. I got an extra memory card for it online and haven’t had any problems. Communicating with Windows XP using musicmatch jukebox is a breeze. I have been recommending this to all...
Pros: Holds around 16 songs Cons: Batteries are AAA and not to long lasting
The RCA Kazoo 1060 is a great mp3 player. Not expensive holds 16 songs which is upgradable with a special flash card. It is great to run or play sports with because it comes with a plastic case which attaches to an armband that holds it securly in...
Pros: small size, battery life, nice headphones Cons: Will not download songs rendering it useless...
Do not buy if you are running XP (pro or home) This player will not download songs even though XP "sees" it and the supplied Musicmatch software is severly crippled and constantly asks for you to upgrade to the latest version. I paid $100 for this...
Pros: Cool color scheme, comes with great headphones. Cons: Not as much space and needed by music lovers.
At first glance, this MP3 player looks like one of the best, and don't misunderstand me, it possibly might be -in the 64MB section. It seemed much too big for only 64MB of space. My brother got a 128MB MP3 player, and it seemed smaller in every...
Pros: Small and light Cons: Awful software for transferring music from PC to device
The player itself does the job well enough; the sound quality is fine, and it's certainly very light and portable. It has switch to lock the buttons to avoid unintentional track changes etc. There are no fancy features (e.g. track name/artist) but...
We wanted a small MP3 player for walking/jogging with good sound that had at least 64MB internal memory. This unit is tiny! It comes with an arm band (a little small) and little clear case as well as a neck strap. We looked at Rio and Samsung Yepp,...
Pros: Tiny, amazing sound quality, durable Cons: can be a battery sucker if EQ levels are used
I've had this player for a couple of years now. It's never let me down. The sound is amazing for such a little thing. It has many EQ settings for different sound, such as Bass, Jazz, etc. I don't advise using them though, anything other than Flat sucks the battery life like crazy. I toss it around when I run, drop it getting into my car, sweat all over it, and it still keeps on sounding great.
I can fit close to 20 songs on it, as long as they are all downloaded at about 92KBs. This is plenty good, I've experimented with different levels, from 196 down. 92 is a good balance of sound quality and file size. The memory is expandable, which is nice. 20 songs is plenty for me, I mix them up often. It has a random feature, so I never have to memorize which song is coming up next.
Great for on the go, but... by qwagmire ,Sep 26 '04
Pros: Small, can handle jarring activities. Cons: carrying case is crap, memory upgrade is nearly impossible.
I bought this player with running and active uses in mind. Here's the breakdown:
1) Software: The player uses MusicMatch, and it is easy to transfer/delete songs from the player. I had to go to RCA to get the Kazoo driver for MusicMatch, still no big deal.
2) Sound quality: Excellent, the presets are terrific, and the volume playback is excellent on 2 AAA batteries.
3) Battery life: It seemed to handle 10 hours without complaint.
4) Accessories: The transparent plastic case is really crappy, and falls apart after 6 months of use. The plastic case also pulled color off the player, so the player casing became faded quickly. There were some rust spots form when I took the player on runs.
5) Flash upgrades: Good luck. I decided to upgrade the memory, and found that the cards don't fit in the player. The user manual doesn't mention which card to use. Some manufacturers make their flash cards thicker than others, so expect memory upgrade to be nearly impossible.
Pros: great sound quality; fairly easy to operate; very small Cons: none that i have found
i just bought one of these on ebay and before i did i read the reviews on here. i must say that i found the software (music match) a little confusing for a couple minutes. smooth sailing from there. the sound quality is great. i can't say one bad thing about it. i don't know how fast it goes through batteries yet, but if that's the only downside, i'll take it. i put average in my review because i don't really know for sure. as far as the buttons. very easy!!! you push stop to stop it. then push it again to turn the unit off. simple!!!! i would recommend this to anyone.
easy to use, great sound... by elrod_dt3000 ,Mar 01 '03
easy to use, great sound quality. comes with everything you need. the only draw back is the memory chips while on the low side on cost, are still expensive. 32mb-$30 - $40 64mb - $70 - $110. But I feel that the ease in using and the sound quality are worth it.
I like this inexpensive MP3.... by spieg_dt3000 ,Jan 16 '03
I like this inexpensive MP3. Good value for the buck. The player itself is well designed. This is as nice a portable device that I have ever owned. I have seen alot of devices in my day.
A major drawback is the software which is not user friendly. This is a shame since it may hurt the overall markability of the product.
Basically to download MP3 music you have to download a Plug-in from the Musicmatch website for the software. And it takes some detective work to find this out. Why would you market an MP3 player and hassle your consumers like that? Once this software issue is remedied this would be one of the top player in my opinion.
A very good value at $79.00. User has the option of adding an external Memory Multimedia Card (MMC)for a total memory capacity of 192MB, it doesn't come cheap though at a little more than $1.00/MB.
The digital display allows the user to keep track of which track he's on and how long each song is. The display also tracks battery life. I think you won't be disappointed even though I would have liked another MP3 software to transfer the MP3 files to the player. The Musicmatch Jukebox software leaves a lot to be desired.
