Pros: 128 MB of space! SD Memory card support! Cons: Software CD, Clip-phones. Also, includes too many paper ads!
The RCA Lyra 128 MB MP3 Player is the little MP3 player that can deliver you your much needed MP3 fix on the go! The RCA Lyra is a great portable MP3 Player. It's compact, delivers excellent sound quality, and even has an SD memory card slot! ...
Pros: Does a limited job cheaply, easy to use once you figure it out. Cons: Buttons make navigation difficult, limited display, no global volume setting.
The Lyra is an economical way to carry a limited number of MP3s. I specify MP3s, as the unit comes with 128 MB on-board and the other [native] format this unit will play, [which is] WMA, fills your memory up very quickly. The Lyra will hold enough ...
Pros: Size, weight, price, ease of use. Cons: The software and the headphones (a preference thing).
I just purchased a Lyra RD1028 MP3 Player for myself after a few weeks of borrowing my son's older Lyra when I go on walks and being stuck listening to his music. I wanted something extremely small (it is 2" x 2 1/2") and lightweight and thought getting ...
Pros: SD Memory Card Expansion, long battery life (on alkalines), good headphones, usb connectivity Cons: display screen not backlit (a minor con)
To start off I have experience both as a seller of this product and a user. I have worked in retail for close to 2 years and I have not sold any other mp3 player more than the RCA Lyras, we cannot keep them in stock. In my opinion they offer the most ...
Pros: Good sound, rugged accessible design, plug'n'play to new Operating systems. Cons: Armband for computer geeks with small arms. No line level output
Why I chose the RCA LYRA RD1028 This is my second go with RCA Lyra. My first Lyra was a 64 MB RD1021, and I was very pleased with the performance, layout, and ruggedness of the player. It died a couple of months back here in the desert of ...
Pros: Low power consumption, expandable memory, great accessory package, affordable price, good looking device. Cons: no direct way to transfer purchased Itunes music.
I was given this item by my fiancee' for my birthday and I have found it to be an amazingly good value. The player has 128 mb of onboard memory plus a slot to hold MMC/SD memory cards. This offers nearly limitless expansion of your music catalog. The ...
First off let me say I'm also a retailer and handle many different brands of players. I did a stock appraisal for sales of RCA brand MP3 players, mainly the models 1021, 1022 and the 1028 and out of 77 units sold in Feb.....69 came back as "can't ...
Pros: Small and versatile. Easy to carry in a pocket. Great sound! Cons: Actual battery life is closer to 10 hours. Often repeats the same shuffle
These MP3 players have brought us back to music! I bought my wife one of these for Xmas. We all enjoyed it so well, that I got one for my birthday a couple of months later. We use it in a variety of different situations including with a car kit, ...
Pros: great sound, easy to use, inexpensive Cons: can be tedious to program songs
I was looking for an mp3-player to take to the gym. I wanted to have something inexpensive, just to play my music files. I don't need radio or recording or anything like that. So this player is just perfect for my needs. I bought it yesterday, so I can't ...
Pros: price ($70 cdn), quality, rugged, great armband, ear phones, compact, expandable Cons: none (well ok - the screen has no backlight, so what?)
I'm writing this review as both a consumer electronics sales person as well as a consumer. I have been selling mp3 players for well over a year now and never have I seen such functionality built in to an mp3 player with a price tag that won't cost you an ...
Pros: Cheap, effective and very reliable. Cons: Not much memory.
I don't regret buying this one. It was cheap, and although it only has 128 mb of disk space, it has an SD card slot. It suits my needs. I only need about 30 songs or so to reflect my mood for the day. I have had it freeze a couple of times, but it hasn't been a problem. The battery life is excellent, and I use it as an SD card reader on my computer. This player is extremely useful, and it plays music clearly.
Great Player......for 3 months by trader123 ,Oct 26 '06
Pros: Cheap, easy to load music, great for first three months Cons: Freezes, poor customers upport, will be useless piece of junk after 90 days
I guess you get what you pay for. This thing worked great...for 3 mths. Then it started freezing and it just drives me nuts. If it slighly touched it freezez which means it went straight to the garbage since RCA has nonexistent customer service and they deny any "freeze" issue despite the fact that their are millions of concerns.
Pros: does a simple job well Cons: lacks file menu
The biggest problem I have with it is the lack of a menu system. During startup, the device looks through all the files, sort them by path and filename, and give each a track number. This reminds me of the really old mp3 cd player. Finding a particular files is quite difficult.
Moreover, after pausing for a few minutes, the device turns off. If you start it up again, it would play the file from the beginning. Not a big deal, but slightly annoying for audiobooks.
Otherwise, everything else works quite well. It reads 1GB card with no problem. It can display file names english and japanese. With the rubber buttons on the two sides, the device feels quite indestructible.
When transferring DRM files with WM10, two devices show up. Just choose the corresponding drive letter, and sync the files. And you are ready to play.
I bought mine new from Wal-Mart for like $70 I think and it's done me pretty good since I had it. I mainly use it when I don't want to run down my CD player batteries. I don't use the software I just SYNC using Media Player. The arm strap thing is pretty nifty too when you're excercising or (like I was) moving firewood.
A backlit screen could've been nice, but it would've drained some of the battery power.
Mine didn't mess up like some of the other reviews say. It was probably a bad battery choice or something.
Overall, if you're a pro at MP3 players then go for the high end expensive ones. But if you're either just getting started or want something cheap and pretty efficient go for the Lyra.
Pros: Easy navigation Cons: Constantly freezes, no FM radio.
I bought this MP3 player for work, actually, as I did mindless computer work where we were allowed to listen to music as we worked.
I should've taken it back right away as the girl next to me had one as well, and had nothing but problems. It would freeze up all the time on her.
The same thing started happening with mine. It would freeze in the middle of a song, I'd have to remove the batteries and put them back in again in order to unfreeze it. (nothing would work while it was frozen).
At first, this only happened once in awhile, and it wasn't a huge issue, but it only got worse. It happened more and more frequently to the point where I could not get through one song without it freezing up on me.
Now, it won't even power on.
I lost my receipt, the store won't help me, and the RCA website is useless. Haven't tried calling, but I will and I'll update.
